It works! But .... —Feb. 6, 2017

Retired as of 06-02-2017 - drew too much hate.

..Or as I like to put it; 'The people in my group don't like playing with (strong, intimidating) women' ;).

Didn't get around to testing any of the new cards because I didn't manage to get the mana together in each game we played :(

Hey Bou- do you really feel Bramblewood Paragon is worth the slot? You don't have a lot of creatures which ETB with counters, and that's the only time his ability is worth it, y'know? I'm going to get rid of Burgeoning as well. What did you replace it with?

filkinsmark, hey. I haven't managed to put it in the field yet, but in theory it should give every warrior I play afterwards trample and +1 counters, so don't necessarily need creatures that ETB with counters.. I might cut it yeah.

I just shifted quite a lot around, but for Burgeoning I guess Tempt with Discovery as that allows to search your library for special lands - and the more people that search, the more special lands you get to put into play untapped. Skyshroud Claim would probably achieve the same .

Now, you've been playing yours more than I've been playing mine, but you've got some creatures I feel you could do without, for each, I'll try to recommend a replacement- but please feel free to defend your choices, maybe there's aspects of them I'm not thinking of! Warden of the First Tree is fine for a mana-dump, but isn't really a one-drop, because he has to be pumped before he's even a Warrior. (Winnower Patrol is a cool card for semi-scrying each turn, and pumps himself up).Goblin Heelcutter is behind the curve, for an ability which is... fine lol (Especially when you have Blood-Chin Rager, Gruul War Chant and Iroas, God of Victory) Wild Nacatl is gravy in a one-drop slot. Goblin Wardriver is crazy too, Battle Cry is the best mechanic. You've got 12 creatures power 3 or greater, a quarter of those being God cards, which aren't creatures right away anyway- do you feel Elemental Bond is worth the enchantment slot over something more end-game like True Conviction-- I actually think that Outpost Siege would kill with all the dash you have going on, or you could use it for the card advantage like I do. Furthermore, something like Shared Triumph is a lower-curve alternative than Mirari's Wake if that's important to you? You could also trade some of your artifacts like (Infiltration Lens, Rogue's Gloves, or the Obsidian Battle-Axe instead of battle tricks, focus on mana-fix? Darksteel Ingot Manalith etc.

Just some thoughts for the day

Funny you should mention Warden of the First Tree, he's actually the only one-drop I feel works as intended. I've opened with him a few times now and can often pump to 3/3 in T2 for a nice first blood. Goblin Heelcutter I was thinking of cutting as well for precisely that.. He's fine as long as you dash him, otherwise not good at all. Wild Nacatl is going on my shopping list, she's beautiful. Elemental Bond was also on my chopping block, hasn't been useful once so far. Haven't removed it because it's basically a free card for every Saskia or well.. truthfully I did expect to couple it more often with Ogre Battledriver and Lovisa Coldeyes. But seeing as I'm taking out the ogre, I could replace it with that new Lifecrafter's Bestiary. Goblin Wardriver reminds me of Legion Loyalist. 2 dedicated red is a bit bothersome but I agree the battle cry would be really nice. I've just put in more artifacts to help with mana-fixing (Talisman of Unity, Talisman of Impulse, Talisman of Indulgence), and kinda want to keep the lens and gloves for the potential draw. Thanks for the thoughts, much appreciated.

I guess the fact that the turn he can't do shit due to Summoning Sickness is when he's the 1/1 is fine. Furthermore, the fact that can be played any time could be a useful combat trick too

Struggling with lands? Sounds like you need to buy Land Grant and Elvish Spirit Guide and Lotus Petal as soon as possible! If you spurge on anything for this deck, it should definitely be those cards. I can't tell you how many times I have drawn those cards with a no land hand at the start of the game, but still had my ramp searches, and said "Yeah I'll keep this." Greatest feeling ever.

Seriously, land grant and elvish spirit guide can help you go from "I don't have mana" to "I have ALL THE MANA!!!" in a jiffy. Sprouting Vines always helps me get back into the game. Just be sure to cast it after an opponent's long turn OR a counter war. Feels great to search for 7 basics after a counter war.

Be sure that your nonbasic lands can either fecth a green source or tap for green so you can play Tempt as soon as possible.

Hope this helps.
