Blood-Chin Rager Discussion

Botsn on Najeela, Counters, Tokens, and Tribal fun

Thank you ThallionDarkshine for your input. I will say I took some of your advice and added some 2-drops to better my curve. I ended up adding Den Protector and Blood-Chin Rager.

I'm not running mana dorks for the sole reason that they aren't tribal. The only cards that are in the deck that aren't tribal are cards that actually do something extra, that have more value than a mana dork can give.

Admittedly, I had the Aether Vial in there as kind of a place holder. I play in a group that doesn't see it as big of a threat, so they will allow me to get it up to 3 and 4 counters and let it stick for a while. However I did take it out.

Amulet of Vigor is so good in the deck because I run so many shock lands. This way I don't have to kill myself for having my lands come into play untapped. Also with Najeela, the Blade-Blossom the tokens that come into play will enter the battlefield tapped normally, but if I have Amulet of Vigor out they will enter untapped and still attacking. A sort of pseudo vigilance.

I appreciate the feedback you've given me, and please keep chiming in once my deck keeps being updated.

Your list looks really sweet, and you've hit most of the really powerful warriors, but I think you might want to work on your curve a bit. You have a ton of 3-drops, and very few 2-drops, and Najeela is very good if you curve another warrior into her. Some options to consider in the 2-drop slot are Mindblade Render, Blood-Chin Rager, and Den Protector for some warriors, and Fellwar Stone or signets for some early ramp. You've got a couple of 1-drops that I'm not sold on: Aether Vial and Amulet of Vigor. Without many 1 or 2-drops, vial seems much worse, and I don't really see what you want to be untapping with the amulet. What I think would be very good in this deck are 1-cmc dorks, since they allow you to skip past your weak 2-drops and right on to your commander and other 3-drops. Birds of Paradise and Carpet of Flowers are all very good options for that.

I second Nature's Will and Druids' Repository and add Sword of Feast and Famine and Bear Umbra. If you want to go infinite with Cryptolith Rite add in Ahn-Crop Champion or Reconnaissance. Reconnaissance also has the added effect of avoiding combat.

If you want warriors with excellent attack triggers, take a look at Alesha, Who Smiles at Death, Arashin Foremost, Blood-Chin Rager, Brutal Hordechief, really all the warriors from Tarkir and Amonkhet. There's also some really cool equipment like Blade of Selves and Helm of the Host that will help.

bulletmonkey97, thanks for the suggestions. I already have Secure the Wastes and Ogre Battledriver in the deck. I did throw in Rushblade Commander. The way I am building the deck leaves me open to going wide or tall so I don't really want to add more token gen (Oketra's Monument). I also feel like I have enough evasion (Blood-Chin Rager). I may test Mirror Entity in the future, but as I said, I'd rather just play the big crazy warriors than go full token theme.

Oketra's Monument, Blood-Chin Rager, Mirror Entity, Rushblade Commander, Raiders' Spoils, Secure the Wastes, Ogre Battledriver, as well as Blaring Captain and Blaring Recruiter from the new set all seem like straight gas for this type of deck.

If you're going to splash green, it should be for Bramblewood Paragon and perhaps Hardened Scales, not what you currently have in the deck (though frankly, if all the mana fixing you have available is basics, you shouldn't splash). Obsidian Battle-Axe is also a consideration. You definitely need more Bloodsoaked Champions, and you should probably consider additional 1-drops like Mardu Woe-Reaper. This deck won't do much if you don't start fast. Blood-Chin Rager should also be in here.

I agree that you should prob drop green an go with B/W. I could give you a bunch of suggestions but it might be easier to take a look at this budget warriors deck instead: Bloody Knife Lickers. I highly recommend the inclusion of Blood-Chin Rager and Always Watching .

I believe Radiant Destiny and Blood-Chin Rager would be good fits, and I would suggest lowering the curve a bit.
