After experimenting with a pure elemental burn deck I have found that the lack of "stays on battlefield" creatures are really affecting my survival skills. So, I am moving to a less thematic deck, but that I think might work better. The first playtests show just that: it has much more staying power and the offensive capabilities centre more around creatures, with burn spells acting as creature removals as well as direct damage spells for the player. It works OK there

I decided on Burst Lightning over Lava Spike since I need to remove enemy creatures. The flexibility of burst lightning compensates for its smaller damage (unless kicked, which is also a nice feature if I am over the top in mana) and helps my own creatures more than the more specialized lava spike. The fact that it is an instant also helps.

Does not need that much staying power. It needs to end the game by turn 6 or it is out, so more elementals (hellspark+ serpent) instead of noble can be a good idea. It still cannot stand an attrition war in any case.

Can work with 16-17 manas, I think
