You could say this deck is my "Mid-Magic Crisis."

Ever since I started playing magic I've been a green Mage, my very first deck was the M11 "Stampede of Beasts" Intro deck (do you understand how broken Awakener Druid was). I've always said that nothing beats the feeling of your first turn 5 Craw Wurm, but it ain't easy being green in standard.

But currently the top 3 decks all pray in the archetype I adore. So it was time for some change. Let's take a look at what I've come up with!

Jesaki Midrange

Why U/W/R midrange?

One of the prime reasons to play "American Midrange" is that it gives us some of the best cards in the format in every category of card. We have a suit of planeswalkers and creatures, all of whom are capable of taking over the game on their lonesome, with a strong package of removal to supplement. We also have many cards that are extremely powerful in many of the major matches in the format. It also comes with the major plus of being a blast to play!

Let's take a look at some of the individual cards:

-Creatures-

  • 4x Soldier of the Pantheon: This card starts our game off nice and aggressively. It's protection and life gain are just extra icing.

  • 4x Precinct Captain: This creature has always been a favorite of mine! It stalls against aggro, and can great value with even one hit. A good threat for a control matchup.

  • 3x Brimaz, King of Oreskos: I don't think I need to tell you this guy is insane. When he hits the board he provides a quick clock, and provides equal amounts of offense and defense. He's a 3 of strictly due to the "Legendary" clause.

  • 4x Lyev Skyknight: This card has been a personal favorite of mine for a long time. It Lightning Bolts your opponent each turn, and is a great tempo play, basically exiling a creature for a turn.

  • 4x Stormbreath Dragon: I believe this is the best creature in standard. He's also our primary win condition. Pro white is extremely relevant against a huge part of the format.

  • 1x Ephara, God of the Polis: I've had a love affair with the lovely lady ever since she first hit the scene way back in BOTG. She's a huge card drawing engine for this deck, effectively acting as a Staff of Nin that hits for 6.

  • 1x Keranos, God of Storms: This card is amazing against mono black. It's a threat that bolts them, snipes Pack Rat and Lifebane Zombies, and makes an attrition fight almost impossible for them to win.

  • 2x Archangel of Thune: This winged warrior is an extremely unplayed creature. She can take over a game with extreme ease if not immediately answered. She allows us to race other midrange decks with extreme efficiency. Don't leave home without.

-Planeswalkers-

  • 2x Chandra, Pyromaster: She draws cards, kills creatures, and applies pressure. She is an extremely underrated, and underplayed, walker.

  • 2x Elspeth, Sun's Champion: The champion herself! Not only is she a win-con she also is a great stabilizer against aggro and midrange. A great must answer threat.

-Removal-

So that's the deck! If you have any feedback or suggestions please let me hear them! Plus ones don't hurt either. Thanks!
