I used to be a lover of the old UR Emerge lists that where around in Standard in 2016 and 2017. They essentially revolved around the synergy of cheating a 4 cmc Stitchwing Skaab and then the following turn emerging it into an 8 cmc Elder Deep-Fiend which would time walk your opponent and allow you to establish a dominating position in the game.

While this deck had many virtues it also had 2 glaring drawbacks. 1) Lack of Consistency- the deck used cards like Tormenting Voice and Cathartic Reunion in order to get its Skaabs into the GY. This meant that the deck had to mulligan a bunch in order to get the explosive starts it needed. 2) Card Disadvantage- The entire deck is built around some cards that are inherently destructive to keeping your hand together. This meant that the list often ran out of fuel for reanimations. This was often remedied by including up to 4x of Fevered Visions. The problem with Fevered Visions is that it is bilateral. When you faced aggressive decks you often where just providing them fuel to beat you with in the longer games that your flyers would usually win.

I fixed both of these glaring problems from when the deck was in standard with a better manabase, better discard spells, and the addition of Life from the Loam. In the longer games where you need the reanimation each turn the Life from the Loams guarantee that you always have enough fuel to keep the engine going while also helping your later game Lootings and Burning Inquiries still have value.

Then taking advantage of the better mana base that fetches provide over standard I splashed black in order to move up to 8 turn 2 reanimation targets by adding Haunted Dead and some better interaction in Collective Brutality and sideboard tech like Nihil Spellbomb and Kalitas (for the extremely difficult burn matchup).

All in all the deck is now very consistent at getting a t2 reanimation target, swinging for 6 damage on t3 is not rare, and chaining Elder Deep-Fiends is a pretty common way to close out games without letting your opponent get their feet under them.
