Looks Pretty cool, try putting in Mental Vapors, if you are going for some unblockables.

What do you think of replacing Nezumi Cutthroat with Pack Rat?

Nezumi Cutthroat is there for direct attacking; so use of ninjustu (tends to be a mana or so cheaper than summon) ability of my rat ninjas is possible.

You might want to droop the Doom Blade and put in Go for the Throat their much more versatile unless matched up against affinity. For sideboarding i like Dismember and Hero's Downfall

Have you considered maybe replacing Mind Rot with Wrench Mind it's a cheaper cost and budget friendly.

What about Tormented Soul for the direct attack? It cost 1 less mana, but it has 1 less power?

Stronghold Rats would go well with Mental Vapors (especially in multiplayer games). With that much discard a turn, taking a Shrieking Affliction or The Rack would be worth it. Especially if you are discarding some Rotting Rats as a result of your Stronghold Rats

Try Shrieking Affliction. It works as The Rack #5-8.

If you like discard. How about Altar's Reap + Cry of Contrition + Drainpipe Vermin ? I run it in my rat deck and is quite useful for card advantage.

I run a mono green infect but now I want to see how this deck runs. +1 for the awesome idea and good selection of cards. Being newer at the game though I wouldn't suggest anything to upgrade the deck considering it is also a budget deck like mine. :)

Necrogen Mists is pretty powerful. I would consider replacing the sign in bloods with Raven's Crime

Take a look at mine. You might like it as its budget friendly outside of Mox Opals. And, it would be easy to add the rack and legendary rat if you wanted.

Your problem is getting through hexproof and indestructable? Well, you have two options. Either Gatekeeper of Malakir or Black Sun's Zenith. They're not perfect, since they'll kill most of your rats, but it's an option.

I don't play rack, but I do know that for pack rats, Liliana of the Dark Realms is, in my opinion, a must-have so you can fetch a swamp, then discard it to create a rat token.

For indestructible removal + mana, try Gild or King Macar, the Gold-Cursed. As for actual rat cards I would suggest adding in 1 or 2 Marrow-Gnawers for lots of rats to pump Pack Rat.

What most 8 Rack decks run is 4 copies of Smallpox, which gets around hexproof/indestructible. You might lose a creature in the process, but better to get rid of some indestructible thing AND a land AND a card in hand then lose a game to something you can't remove. You don't have to run 4 copies, but I strongly recommend at least 2. Also, if you can get them, Thoughtseize is better than Duress, and I run a combination of Raven's Crime and Dakmor Salvage, so that if you can get your oppoenents down to one or no cards, you dont have to worry about drawing if your board state is good, just keep recycling the Dakmor Salvage.

Alphamew17, your points are valid. My only issue is that my deck runs on few lands, yes but these lands are extremely important! I run an aggressive 21 lands and three of these are utility, so I need every land I can get up to turn 4-5. This deck as you know excels at getting edges, yet I view Smallpox as setting you back as well.

Ah yes, the problems with running creatures. What about Liliana of the Veil? Her -2 makes opponents sacrifice a creature, and the +1 is also beneficial. Also, I like the Nezumi Shortfang, currently I'm running some other 2 drop that isn't Dark Confidant, and that would actually be a pretty good replacement for it. I'd have to mess around, but having an extra rack in creature form could be nice.

Have you considered Quest for the Nihil Stone? Getting it online seems really easy with all the discard in this deck and once it's on, your opponent is in a 4-turn clock (less if they're punishing themselves with lots of fetches/shocks or you have Shrieking Affliction out) seems like a good idea in my head, what do you think?

October 25, 2015 2:29 p.m.

I would greatly recommend Geth's Verdict. The amount of times I have had an opponent play their bomb creature for it to be instantly removed and them to even loose 1 life is amazing. Only downside is decks that go wide or creatures like Grave Titan that will always have something to protect itself. Best thing of all, the card is dirt cheap.
