Sideboard

Maybeboard

I've been playing with with this R/G Landfall deck sans Arlinn (swapped out Valakut Predators) for over a month now. It's done pretty well surprisingly enough, but slows down significantly if the match goes on past turn 10 or 11. Hoping the Arlinn's will help out, but I'm also not sold on running 2 Nissa's Renewals.

I also have feelings about Ulvenwald Hydra replacing Omnath from the sideboard (that still needs made) when the need arises since half of the angels and vampires in SOI fly.

Honestly, I feel like Omnath is replaceable in the maindeck, I just have no idea what to run in his place to the same effect.

I'm conflicted about replacing the Sylvan Scrying for Traverse the Ulvenwald. 2 mana for ANY land vs 1 mana for basic.

I'm a returning player to MTG after a Zendikar - Battle for Zendikar break, this is my first FNMable standard homebrew since getting back into the game. I think it's fairly obvious what plays off of what, it's about as straight forward a landfall deck as you can get. Specifically sideboard help would be fantastic as I'm still pretty new to the current iteration of standard, but any thoughts, comments, and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Let me know what you think.

Ok so here's my completely overhauled SOI R/G Landfall. Going to try and take this to FNM tomorrow night and see how it does. (Mostly just hoping I open at least one of the Arlinns in my box before the event)

All things said and done, I'm pretty happy with how this has turned out, sans my 2 drop creature.

I traded Makindi Sliderunner in favor of Snapping Gnarlid I just like it more, please argue in favor of the other if I'm totally wrong. But frankly I think this 2 drop is gonna need to be a non landfall creature in the end, and I just don't know which creature that needs to be right now. My maybe board has some of the cards I'm thinking about. Den Protector is probably leading that switch.

Omnath, Locus of Rage is history. He's just too expensive for the first half of the game, and durring the second half, he's just not doing it for me compared to any of the other bombs I could drop.

I kind of miss the chance at a 1 off save the day Nissa's Renewal winning it for me, or bringing the deck back from the edge of oblivion, but I'm just not willing to cut for it. (I guess that would be the 1 of Sword of the Animist and it helps the whole game, sometimes making all the difference in the early-mid game where as the Renewal is mid-late only.

I am also deeply deeply in love with The Gitrog Monster, and part of me is just like screw it, the obvious thing to do here is go JUND and rework this whole thing. Throw in some Pulse of Murasa and Kolaghan's Command and just go to town. But I digress.

Focusing back on the R/G Landfall at hand, I'm still not 100% on that sideboard, I could definitely use some input there.

All thoughts, and suggestions are welcome as always.
