Puncturing Blow

Sorcery

Puncturing Blow deals 5 damage to target creature. If that creature would die this turn, exile it instead.

Just a shout out I'm using your deck as a template match-up to prepare other brews of mine against BR bs everyone is doing right now haha. It's expertly balanced, down to the sideboard. I was having conflicts with Puncturing Blow but after trying it out I get it. I think Banefire is a better replacement, but this whole deck is getting shaken up with rotation so I'm guessing you're past the "suggestion" stage.

Magma Spray for the final blow to Hazoret the Fervent forces it to exile. Otherwise you already have Soul-Scar Mage plus burn especially Fight with Fire. Alternatively you could use cards like Puncturing Blow or Warkite Marauder. Maurader + burn is good but at 1 toughness it's risky against red. More so useful with green ramp decks.

Ok, so I forgot to mention the sideboard. Two things, you are a little heavy on the artifact/enchantment hate (yes I know Crushing Canopy also works on lyra) but I reckon you could get away with a few less of those and diversify your answers. Magma Spray, Puncturing Blow(for The Scarab God) and Lifecrafter's Bestiary could be nice to have access to. Also Heroic Intervention is a strict upgrade to Blinding Fog just say'n.

New Brawl rules! This deck's 1v1 matchup just got really good, with the worst control deck out of the format and life total lowered to 20. Plus, both Rampaging Ferocidon and Ramunap Ruins are back in for us to play with.

-Mountain
-Puncturing Blow
-Combat Celebrant
-Wily Goblin
+Ramunap Ruins
+Fight with Fire
+Skyship Stalker
+Rampaging Ferocidon

I went ahead and added Puncturing Blow since I was looking for a spell similar to Vraska's Contempt or Hour of Glory in red. I tested By Force and so far in the testing Release the Gremlins has done a lot better and USUALLY there aren't THAT many artifacts to where the extra cost matters too much. I also have to reluctantly agree on cutting Goblin Barrage even though I absolutely love the card. It's the Standard version of goblin grenade right now and it's insanely fun.

When I wrote the part about Rigging Runner, I thought there were only 2x. I probably didn't look closely enough-- my fault. I notice, though, that you are now at 62 cards in the deck. To trim to 60 cards, I would suggest cutting 2x Goblin Barrage as I think the rest of the cards are solid. It's a good card, I realize, but I was looking for the higher end of the curve to drop cards and that seems like the most obvious target.

For your sideboard, I suggest Puncturing Blow as it deals nicely with The Scarab God. That's probably better than Haphazard Bombardment if not for the mana cost alone.

Probably 3x Magma Spray is also good for the sideboard. If you have to use 2 burn spells to get a creature off the board (again, The Scarab God or similar), then using a magma spray is good. It also keeps creatures out of graveyards so cards like The Scarab God and God-Pharaoh's Gift cannot target them. I would maybe cut Key to the City to make room?

I like Release the Gremlins quite a bit, but I wonder if By Force might be a bit better for this deck? Just a thought.

Just some additional thoughts. I like it! This is summing up to be a pretty good looking deck!

i dont think Run Amok will help against dinos, but i do think its better than Puncturing Blow lol. you may consider Naban, Dean of Iteration with etb effects like Merfolk Trickster, Watertrap Weaver, and Ghitu Journeymage so that you can tap down blockers and burn the opponent in combination with your Lightning Strike and Wizard's Lightning. that should let you still deal heavy damage to dinos, while also keeping them at bay. you can wait until a dino attacks, then flash in Merfolk Trickster to block and kill it. if you control Naban, Dean of Iteration, and your opponent attacks with 2 dinos, you can do the same thing and block and kill both of them.
