A tad upset we didn't get a Sydri reprint. Would have love to have obtained her foil.
August 20, 2016 10:59 a.m.
Not the whole set yet, mythicspoiler only has 194 cards out of 221

So is WOTC keeps this up, I will stop buying standard sets and spend all my money on the "eternal supporting" sets.... I opened one of EM and I wish I had not because I will be opening one of these a month for as long as I can get them under $100!
August 20, 2016 2:28 p.m.
I agree. The Eternal sets have been more interesting than standard sets these days. Really makes you think, doesn't it?
August 20, 2016 2:35 p.m.
I think we all know what the greatest mythic spoiled so far is. Avatar of Woe.
August 20, 2016 3:41 p.m.
I'm going to post all of the rares and mythics spoiled today here. On my phone. Don't expect all of them to be fresh.

Horn of Greed (sorry, Japanese or Chinese image).

August 20, 2016 3:56 p.m.
For time and space reasons, as of now, I'm just linking uncommon and common reprints.

Marchesa's Decree
3B
Enchantment
When Marchesa's Decree enters the battlefield, you become the monarch.
Whenever a creature attacks you or a planeswalker you control, the controller of that creature loses 1 life.
(Sorry, Japanese.)

(Hey! A better pacifism!)
Reprints in Alphabetical:
Ugh... I might wait on the commons, this is really taxing.
August 20, 2016 4:30 p.m.
DarkLaw: HOLY MOTHER OF SHITTING HELIOD! I never wanted to scream so loud in my life! GIMME THAT THING! Now THAT is something Yisan needs. MINE! MINE! MINE!
August 20, 2016 5:51 p.m.
Wait, is that captain...A PIRATE?!

My reaction for both cards.

Custodi Soulcaller is boss. Also, Ghostly Prison is a $12 card at uncommon.
August 20, 2016 6:10 p.m.
There's nothing particularly notable at common. I'm not going to waste time linking and posting around 71 cards. If you feel particularly driven to see them, you can check out today's spoilers at MythicSpoiler or something.
August 20, 2016 6:24 p.m.
Eternal masters 2: $4 msrp and unlimited print run. We are all living in magical Christmas land
August 20, 2016 6:26 p.m.
These Delimma cards make me want to join a larger EDH Pod.
August 20, 2016 10:17 p.m.
Gang of Devils reprint and mini-Hydra Omnivore.

Once again, I'm not going to post commons unless they are notable.

I really want to use that in commander. In particular, it allows you to punch people through their pillow forts.
August 21, 2016 4:23 a.m.
But pillows are nice, fluffy, and friendly!
Let's just hope they already got Humility out.
August 21, 2016 4:28 a.m.
Question:
Is the Monarch ability going to apply in EDH?
I'd like to know because I see a lot of cards with this ability that I like. If it doesn't apply then I don't need to pay any attention to them.
August 21, 2016 6:01 a.m.
CChaos It applies to each format the cards are legal in, so yeah.
As a sidenote, I hate the monarch and melee mechanics because they force politics. It should be something to manipulate, not to be wary of.
August 21, 2016 6:42 a.m.
Overall, I think if you're upset about politics being forced into the game, you missed the point of the set.
Melee, I agree with you on that to a degree.
Monarch, I think it can be something to manipulate. Once there is a monarch, it's not like you can only take it by combat, you can also just play a monarch card yourself. You have to decide and play with the table as to whether becoming the monarch is a good idea now or later, or perhaps whether you should let someone else take it from you should you already have it.
August 21, 2016 10:01 a.m.
Have to agree. If you don't like the melee and monarch abilities, you don't understand the set and the background. This set is phenomenal. Incredibly unique and likely one of the best draft sets in years.
August 21, 2016 12:49 p.m.
Daedalus19876 says... #32
I would really like to try drafting a mix between this set and the original Conspiracy.
August 21, 2016 1:09 p.m.
I guess I don't like looking like a massive threat. It's incredibly useful when people underestimate you, so that you can take advantage of them. In contrast, whacking everyone in the face or becoming the monarch prompts people to think of you as a threat. As different as this is from a standard-legal set, Wizards would never really try to promote winning sneakily.
August 21, 2016 1:29 p.m.
Guardian of the Gateless, Vertigo Spawn, and Faith's Reward reprints.
August 21, 2016 3:59 p.m.
If you don't want to look like a threat, don't be a threat. You can just play fairly normally, just keep an eye out for the players that are playing the set's mechanics.
Alternatively, play as many goad cards as you can draft.
August 21, 2016 9:38 p.m.
I mean I feel like anybody who doesn't draft a Grenzo's Ruffians is doing it wrong. Everybody has 3 packs to open so I think it's reasonable that you could see 3 opened per four players drafting.
I think a lot of tables are going to end up where 3 or 4 people each have 1 copy. The whole set promotes an atmosphere of "lets swing away without gettind mad at eachother!"
Now only if WotC could find a way to get players to not throw a fit when somebody uses a kill spell.
August 21, 2016 9:55 p.m.
The set doesn't promote not being annoyed when swinging at each other. That's almost impossible. It just promotes swinging at everyone. Considering that me and other eternal format players prefer noncreature spells, it disappoints me when eternal-orientated sets are just as focused on attacking. Thankfully, you can probably draft a nice political control deck out of the cards provided. I'm being forced to kill more creatures attacking me than bombs though. And now everyone should see especially why I dislike the monarch and melee mechanics, regardless of whether you disagree.
August 22, 2016 3:47 a.m.
this isnt eternal oriented though. Its a good excuse to get some draft friendly eternal cards but its not FOR you, its for drafting and multiplayer casual.
August 22, 2016 4:47 a.m.
Daedalus19876 says... #39
DarkLaw: They gave Eternal as much as a set possibly could: new playable cards and reprints of expensive staples.
August 22, 2016 4:54 a.m.
Souljacker says... #40
I don't think you have too worry too much about these cards with new mechanics becoming legacy staples.
August 22, 2016 5:16 a.m.
This set was made for draft/multiplayer settings. This set was not created to enhance Legacy or Vintage. That is a byproduct. Are there cards good enough to see play in Legacy? Sure, but that's not at all the reason they were made. Conspiracy has been and will be about Draft.
August 22, 2016 11:22 a.m.
I think I've confused you all. Because I never said that I wanted cards from the set to be played in Eternal format. I merely stated that I dislike two mechanics for draft purposes.
Besides, you can't look at a set which was clearly developed with eternal formats in mind and decide that it isn't an eternal-orientated set. One of the goals of the set was literally stated to provide reprints that a lot of people have been demanding, but I digress.

(I'd happily use that in some commander decks.)

You can check out the full card list at the mothership.
August 22, 2016 11:32 a.m.
link to statement that specifically says a goal of the set was to reprint eternal staples?
August 22, 2016 11:57 a.m.
DarkLaw I'm sorry but that's not true. They said they will include reprints of cards that do not fit the theme/lore but they never stated the set would be used to reprint highly demanded cards. lol And yes, we can make the conclusion that it isn't an eternal-orientated set because it's marketed as a draft/multiplayer set. Period. Again, the byproduct of the set is that it can be played in eternal formats and a few of the cards may see play in Legacy.
August 22, 2016 12:09 p.m.
What do you guys think of Daretti, Ingenious Iconoclast?
August 22, 2016 12:31 p.m. Edited.
MagicalHacker says... #46
I see nothing wrong with what DarkLaw said. In fact arguing about what we're currently arguing is suuuuper boring. Why not talk about something like this: DarkLaw, why do you dislike the two mechanics you dislike? Sometimes it's unarguable due to being based in feelings and tastes and emotions, but sometimes it's based on objective faults with mechanics.

oh man Murder printed at common again makes draft that much cooler!
August 22, 2016 1:46 p.m.
Azgrol, I think he's insanely good.
artifacts might not be super popular, but nobody really seemed to think too much of mono-red artifacts before he came as the commander of the red C14 deck either.
August 22, 2016 3:17 p.m.
He will definitely be seeing EDH play, is what I'm saying.
August 22, 2016 3:18 p.m.
@K34
I think you're right, you will see a lot of changes with EDH decks to fit him in. In casual (especially) he could easily fit into any artifact deck running Mycosynth Lattice, he's going to be a beast.

Spitting Slime is funny.
Ghostly Prison reprint is great.
Show and Tell is obviously boss.
The good reprints and cards are trending towards the higher rarities, but still pretty nice. I'd love Probe as a common, but probably not happening.
Also, wtf has this thread degenerated into? I can't understand a single word of posts alternating in blue and white.
