I couldn't find space for Fume Spitter or Kitchen Finks in here, but I think it's turned out well.

I've put in some bigger undying creatures and Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet + Mikaeus, the Unhallowed as I thought they fitted in well.

I also think I found an extremely fitting creature fetch in Eldritch Evolution to get Vorapede or one of the four drops. Unfortunately Vorapede itself and Demonlord of Ashmouth are the only creatures that I want to sac for EE to pick up Mikaeus, the Unhallowed, but so be it, he is there if a game drags on.

Lastly I put in black Wrath of God

Wouldn't running a play set of Zulaport Cutthroat be better than running Blood Artist. They do the same thing and Zulaport Cutthroat has one more power.

Hey man. Awesome Deck. My favorite mechanic by far. I made my own a while back and feel free to check it out but adding Grafted Wargear and Glistening Oil were two of the best things I added to mine that I didn't see in yours. Keep up Golgari Undying!

Blood Artist and Zulaport Cutthroat are not the same. Zulaport is only your own creatures, Blood artist is your own AND your opponents making blood Artist a whole lot better in my opinion.

I'm not sure if it's possible to fit in, but I feel that Bloodghast and Vengevine would be fun in this deck. Not very undyeing, but they sure come back a lot.

I used to run a mono black aristocrats deck with both Zulaport Cutthroats and Blood Artists in full playsets. A fun card that I had a lot of success with playing is Fume Spitter. Let me explain:

As a state based action, if a creature has a +1/+1 counter on it and a -1/-1 counter is placed on that creature, both counters are removed.

So, for example, if you control a creature with 2 +1/+1 counters on it and a -1/-1 counter is place on it, that creature will wind up having only one +1/+1 counter on it and nothing else.

Fume Spitter is cool, because it is a one drop for starters. The way I played this card was to chump block with it, sacrifice it in response to damage resolving (generally triggering 2-3 drain/gains from Blood Artist triggers) and remove the "undying counter" from one of my creatures, allowing me to let them die again, just to have them return.

I think it is a super sweat deck btw so +1 from me, but I highly recommend trying 4x Fume Spitter. You won't regret it.

Appreciating the fact that you took time to comment, but I must agree with Bastaba :)

I like both cards! I will try to sort something out, but it is very hard to cut something off at this point. Suggestions?

Infral

I've already looked into Bloodghast but I don't see him fitting the concept unfortunately. Such a great card. Vengevine is also nuts, but yet again they don't take advantage of the undying mechanic. Although I admit I as of now rely solely on this mechanic. Thanks for commenting!

Thanks for the elaborate answer dude.

That card might be an option so that I don't rely solely on Retribution of the Ancients in my opening hand or mulligans to get through the game. I will work something out when I have the time, thanks!

Hex Parasite, Bloodflow Connoisseur, Blasting Station, and Blade of the Bloodchief work pretty well with this type of setup. Also, Scavenging Ooze is a perfect sideboard option.

Just an aside on the Blood Artist/Zulaport Cutthroat debate, yes Blood Artist tends to get you more triggers, but unless you're packing something like the aforementioned Blade he's dead board presence. Plus, the Cutthroat says "each opponent" instead of "target opponent." Not a big difference, but I have seen it become relevant against certain matchups. Maybe splitting 2 and 2 would work well.

And I really like Protean Hydra in here. I may slide it into my undying build. +1

Thanks! Great suggestions

In the weekend I will try to rebuild the deck with all of your suggestions in mind.

Well, the first thing I would ask is AEther Vial really doing that much for you with such low converted MC in the whole deck? And then Grim Haruspex might come out for Grafted Wargear just as a 3 cost for a 3 cost, giving you another sac engine. Wargear+Retribution of the Ancients+Blood Artist+Undying=creatures that don't die rather than exile...BTW, I freaking Hardened Scales as an addition. good luck bud

Thanks for your comment! As I mention in the description AEther Vial is very much on the rocks as its biggest purpose to get Geralf's Messenger on the BF. But it hasn't been a problem in 9/10 games. As you mention the CMC avg is pretty low, so I feel like I need some source of extra drawing. I will modify the deck in the weekend!

Black has a lot of card draw, but it comes at the cost of life (which isnt a big deal because you have lifegain in the deck) you could try Night's Whisper, Sign in Blood, Dark Confidant, Underworld Connections, Phyrexian Arena, or my personal favorite Read the Bones. These are all some options to consider.

Thanks a lot again! As of now I have Grim Haruspex works very well for me with Viscera Seer, but everything is taken into consideration :)

If you're looking for card draw, Altar's Reap and Vampiric Rites are also options. Instead of life-loss you drop a creature who should be back in short order anyway. You look like you're going more for beatdown with Protean Hydra and Champion of Lambholt in there, so the sac shenanigans may not be the way to go for you, but I figured I'd mention them anyway.

dlaxw7 I took Vampiric Rites, great card, and cut out Champion of Lambholt for it to work better. Protean Hydra works well still, thanks!
