Sideboard

Maybeboard

Creature (1)

When the normal deck is played, this deck functions as a land destruction build. When the sideboard is implemented, the lands destroy you.

This deck is built around one of my favorite ideas within MTG: sideboard modality swaps. In these decks, implementing the sideboard in its entirety allows for a completely different modality of play, and can really throw opponents off after game 1 of play.

Looking at the mainboard first, two devil cards central to my build are worth discussing which I have found are unused among competitive, non-budget land destruction decks: Bedlam Reveler and Charmbreaker Devils. First, Charmbreaker Devils allows one to recycle cast land destruction cards and boost its power through its quasi-prowess ability and makes for a significant late-game threat. Second, Bedlam Reveler is easily cast due to the deck's concentration on instants and sorceries, and allows one to replenish their hand mid-game which thus facilitates consistent casting of land destroying sorceries.

Exploring the sideboard, the deck focuses upon destroying opponents with lands through cards like Awaken the Ancient and Koth of the Hammer which empower lands. Additionally, Earth Surge is a nice addition that makes cards already featured in the mainboard like Dryad Arbor and Blinkmoth Nexus a litter stronger.

Bear in mind that neither build is perfect or competitive, and the swapping of the sideboard is mainly to throw opponents off rather than perform competitively.

Typically, I replace the following mainboard cards for this sideboard transformation:

4x Pillage

2x Charmbreaker Devils

2x Roiling Terrain

4x Stone Rain

3x Molten Rain

However, other swaps may be made, depending on the context.

I welcome any suggestions or critiques, so long as budgetary considerations are taken into mind.
