Nice deck m8. Golgari bird-themed deck made me think of The Raven Man. I know, your deck doesn't have a discard theme, but still ... the tokens are on theme and people discard for other than forced reasons :)

Arcane signet is better than charcoal diamond. Hymn to tourach and wrench mind are better discard spells than the ones your using. The Raven Man is a auto include in any discard deck.

There's also Dark Deal and the Waste Not on a stick for yourself creature: Bone Miser.

The Raven Man

Megrim is the other Liliana's Caress for one more mana if you need it.

Hi, i'm also debating on building a Tiny Bone deck, there is so much good cards that were release for discard theme this year.

These might be worth the addition: Sheoldred, the Apocalypse The Raven Man Sangromancer

Very cool deck design. There are a lot of nice interactions here!

I think you might want to lean a little bit into the main theme here. Cards like Flamewake Phoenix, Rakdos Charm, and Kulrath Knight are good but don't synergize with your strategy super well.

I think you're going to want to get rid of your mountains and put in dual lands instead; you're probably going to be running mostly black cards by the final iteration of the deck, and since Underworld Dreams requires so much specifically-black mana to cast, it's going to be difficult if too much of your mana is red. It's still helpful to splash but I wouldn't use up land spaces.

My main suggestions for your deck are:

  • Dark Deal can make your opponent draw a bunch of cards at once, dealing a ton of damage.
  • The Raven Man can benefit from your opponents discarding cards, which they probably will due to the existence of maximum hand sizes.
  • Fate Unraveler has the same effect as Underworld Dreams while also being able to attack and block, which is great to have.
  • Ob Nixilis, the Hate-Twisted has the effect as well and has some good removal. It's a bit weak in that your opponent can just attack it, but it's still helpful to have and can buy you some time if you're in a sticky situation.

Sheoldred, the Apocalypse is super helpful in this deck and works super well with your strategy. It's also way over your budget, which is the main problem with it. It doesn't seem worth it to me.

Good first draft, I'm excited to see where you take this!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this Basics of this Deck! Any thoughts on updating this to a Post-MH2 Modern Deck?

Mishra's Factory to replace the Mutavaults?

Vindicate because it's freakin' Vindicate (can't argue with that reasoning!)

Bloodchief's Thirst is an option!

Fracture for the Sideboard!

A Tourach, Dread Cantor or 2 might be neat!

Also, not sure if it's playable or would find a spot in here, but the new The Raven Man has me intrigued... & if he's making more Token creatures, Bone Shards & Village Rites might be solid too!

There's also the Urza's Saga "Saga Pox" route... but I think I like what you're already doing more than Saga's.

I love Rack/Pox stuff & have been debating what style of the deck to build for Modern & this just feels super neat, fun, & semi-unique! Cheers!

Prosper, Tome-Bound isn’t modern legal.

It feels like a bunch of your cards are lacking synergy. For example, you’re running The Raven Man but have almost no way to make discard happen.

The deck itself reads more like a Standard deck than a Modern one - maybe it would have a better chance in that format? (note both the above 2 comments also apply to Standard)

Between Liliana of the Veil, Cut Down, Braids, Arisen Nightmare and The Raven Man there's enough pieces to play semi pox in standard. Throw in Duress, Dread Fugue, and Pilfer, plus a boardwipe or two and it's go time >:)
