Nice one! I love Jinxed Choker It's one of those ones that the table thinks, pfft, that doesn't do much, and then later...oh my, I really should have tried to remove that. And I hadn't seen Razor Pendulum but that is so, so Poe : )

And great point on the "one more turn" games. It always feels great when everyone had a great game, no matter who wins.

A perfect game for me lasts just long enough for each of the players to get whatever pieces they were hoping for into play and be “just, like, one more turn” away from winning (or at least successfully peacock-ing their theme/stunt deck) ... all the while with my deck slowly dragging everyone down within Razor Pendulum range with something like a Jinxed Choker that everyone is having fun arguing over and passing around. Maybe about 20 minutes.

My favorite commander for this type of case, and forgive me for saying this again (as some will recognize that I’ve posted this before), is Nekusar, the Mindrazer. This gives everyone extra cards to play with while putting the game on something of a clock. In my torture deck (it’s all Razor Pendulum, Thumbscrews, Skullcage, and whatnot) you’ve got a perpetual albeit slow drain on everyone, but it still lets them get cards and play. Pretty hard to beat that combination.

Definitely my first kill with Razor Pendulum. I’ve had a few more since then, but that first was the best of them. I’m still hoping to some day kill an OPPONENT with it, too. One of these days... ;p

Having almost exclusively ineffective decks I’ve keenly positioned myself on the “never challenged” side of the fence when it comes to breaches in the social contract. What I have seen, however, is friends bring a deck or two that are of significant power level for use when a player savagely bulldozes the whole table and intends to do it again. If you play a recursion multiple-chained-extra-turns play-with-yourself deck that eventually ends up winning with lab maniac or whatever, and then say “that was fun, let’s see if I can do it again” be ready for Narset or Prosh to return the dumpster-delivery favor. This generally doesn’t happen more than a few times a year, because the cEDH folks generally gravitate towards one another. I think the problems really start when you run into a deck that is very oppressive but doesn’t have a significant wincon. That, in my experience, is when people get steamed. Funny thing is, that same scenario is often when my decks have a pretty good chance of accidentally killing the offender with Copper Tablet or Razor Pendulum. lol.

They Didn’t Even Ask Any Questions Scalding Tongs , Thumbscrews , Iron Maiden , Wheel of Torture , and Razor Pendulum . Really cement that line between kids/Pokémon and M:tG/high schoolers+. I’d be interested in what art they would choose (though I love most of those cards already) and I could do without WOT’s corny flavor text.
