Inquisition

Sorcery

Target player reveals his or her hand. Inquisition deals damage to that player equal to the number of white cards in his or her hand.

Since you cant convert Field of Ruin and Twilight Mire into , i would cut the 2 copies of Mire. Urborg converts your Field of ruins and Forests into anyways.

I would put Maelstrom Pulse into Sideboard and play 2 full sets of Thoughtseize and Inquisition. You have already Push, Trophy and Decay as main removal. Should be enough for main, since you will discard early threats via the handdisruption. You can cut Fulminator Mage or Pithing Needle, or one Damnation and one Plague Engineer. Why Fulmiantor Mage? Add one more Trophy and you have up to 8 land destruction cards in the mainboard. You dont need more of that. You have the favor against tron with it anyways to slow it down. Same about the Sphere, while that is shutting down storm as well.

To feed your Goyf: Add a Nihil Spellbomb and a Bitterblossom in the mainboard. Bitterblossom alone counts as two instances: Enchantment and tribal.

Someting you could do is playing ramp things. Crypt Ghast, Extraplanar Lens+Snow-Covered Swamp or Heartless Summoning to get your demons much faster. Also Sorin's Vengeance would be a good finisher then.

For killing their creatures, you can go for removal or also board wipes. Go for the Throat, Slaughter Pact, Damnation, Drown in Sorrow...

Card draw could be vital, some Sign in Blood could also kill your opponent or Phyrexian Arena for more long term card draw.

Also a cool Card to play with those much devotion would be Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx for even more ramp and Gray Merchant of Asphodel to totally fuck up everyone at the table.

Your discard plan is a little bit too far away from your plan to get out the deamons because you cant to both at the same time, discard is only good in early turns and in combination of early board presence from your side. You should keep things like Inquisition and Distress but not that much. You also need room to win the game. Maybe 4 Discard 4-6 removals/wipes the rest demons and ramp. But you have to test and look for yourself what you want to do with your deck.

i hope this helps.

Anti-white, huh?
Black Knight is a cheap, efficient creature that your friend will never be able to block.
Dystopia could help against enchantments, if that's what your friend is going for.
Gloom will be essential, especially if you decide to go the discard route.
Hand of Cruelty is like Black Knight.
Inquisition is inexpensive, and gives you some reach.
Jovial Evil is similar to Inquisition.
Knight of Infamy, Knight of Stromgald, Order of the Ebon Hand and Stromgald Crusader would be good if you decide to go aggro.
Lifebane Zombie is a solid pick, especially for the discard route.
Marauding Knight could be a bomb against your friend.
Self-Inflicted Wound gets around protection.
Stromgald Cabal should probably go in no matter what.
Virtue's Ruin should definitely go in no matter what.

Triskaidekaphobia could potentially simplify the concept and vary the win-con. Since the combo is mono-black, it would allow you to drop red and blue and use green instead to ramp, which would make it faster. you could tutor for both with Dimir House Guard and even tun Tree of Redemption and Assault Formation.

I think Turn to Frog will not work on the Tree because Turn says, "...loses all abilities..."

I think I'd run more Dreadbore in the sideboard and drop Inquisition. My reasoning here is that 1) 2 life can hurt. 2) dreadbore is good when opponents are top-decked. Inquisition is anticipatory, dreadbore is reactionary. If the anticipatory doesn't happen soon enough, it's no good, but the reactionary can take time to deliberate and chose the right time to maximum effect.

Inquisition of Kozilek and Thoughtseize are some of the best discard spells in modern. Also, how can you play a Liliana flavor deck without Liliana of the Veil?!
