Vessiliana tell ya what, Vein Ripper is pretty mean, I had him both games for some reason, and Morlun, Devourer of Spiders also was putting in some work. He kept me alive long enough to close out the games. That and the Bloodthirsty Conqueror! I was having a bit of trouble getting my graveyard full of useful creatures to reanimate. My Bro kept exiling my Vamps though, so that didn't help either. I have several of the draw a card, discard a card effects in my deck but I wasn't pulling them for some reason, just the luck of the draw I guess. Prolly need to add some protection or evasion for Olivia maybe?

I've been looking at lowering my mana curve lately, some power cards are absolutely worth the cost, but I've never been in a situation where I needed and could pay for Ruinous Ultimatum for example, so I swapped in Toxic Deluge. Ripper is a monster and Citadel wins games. I'm still testing New Blood but I'm more focused on consistency even as I shift more to an aristocrats combo build. As great as it is, a 2-color Boros enchant that you can't really ramp into any sooner than turn 2-3 feels a little clunky. I'm experimenting now with The Meathook Massacre and have been pleasantly surprised. Also many of my recent wins have been due to the combo of Vito or Sanguine Bond + Bloodthirsty Conqueror or Exquisite Blood. With a perfect hand, I had one game where I ramped out an instant win combo on turn 3.

Profet93 trying to keep the budget basically where it is, hence some more valuable benched cards, but I can bump it up a bit if a card adds a lot of value (ie Bloodthirsty Conqueror). No concerns about meta, in fact I'd rather be more open to possibilities than focused against builds (but having one-off synergistic utility like Tymaret, Chosen from Death grave hate is always nice).

OberstHati on Transylvania (Edgar Markov)

Nice 1, I took this as a base for Arena Brawl vampires, even lacking a solid Commander it’s rather effective,… I had to Chose Olivia, Opulent Outlaw as Commander for Color Identity and Flavor, Rally the Ranks as another cheap anthem, Sorin of House Markov  Flip for flavor and ping,…Cards that really have an impact even without the eminence spawned coven areBloodletter of Aclazotz, especially when on the Board with another Pearl, Roaming Throne. Banner of Kinship is absurd in your Build, Ruinous Ultimatum might come in Handy too, in a few Matches. Moogles' Valor might be fun too… Since you don’t run Vito or marauding blightpriest Bloodthirsty Conqueror would not raise the Deck to Bracket 4,… Just a few Thoughts, You made me want to build Vampires with this Deck instead of Orzhov Aristocrats, definite +1!

Rekt_Angles on Life gain hurts huh?

Considering the lifegain theme combined with an aristocrats style gameplay based on creatures dying, I would recommend for your consideration Veinwitch Coven, Pest Infestation, Starscape Cleric, Creeping Bloodsucker, (Possibly, depending on token generation) Mirkwood Bats, and possibly cut Epicure of Blood since 5 mana is a lot to ask for an effect you're getting more efficiently elsewhere.

Also recommend Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose for doubling up on life loss, Well of Lost Dreams for a consistent draw engine, Scavenging Ooze for graveyard hate that synergizes with your play pattern, Bloodthirsty Conqueror is a duplicate of Exquisite Blood that goes infinite with your commander, Prosperous Innkeeper for one shot ramp strapped to a soul-sister type of effect, and some sac outlets like Viscera Seer wouldn't go amiss since you really want things to die. Phyrexian Reclamation also suits this playstyle well since you'll likely have more life than you know what to do with, your creatures are mostly cheap to cast, and being able to instant speed recur your creatures to hand is valuable in this archetype.

Hope this helps!

YamishiTheWickedOne on What is a Man? (a hyper aggro Edgar Markov EDH)

@Vessiliana, hey. Have you seen Bloodthirsty Conqueror? I hate adding cards that are more than 4 mana but he's worth it imo. This guy + Vito + someone losing/gaining life is basically the Sanguine Bond + Exquisite Blood combo in creature form. As in it infinite combos for an instant win.

I saw they also made a card that's just straight up better Nighthawk as well.

Mortlocke on The Nobility Are Athirst

pinecone2k3, It's been sometime since your comment - I was more focused on trying to get the deck and deck page in a good place. For the longest time since I bought the precon I always treated the deck as a sort of afterthought, never putting it front and center - until now. The previously mentioned Cliffhaven Vampire and Marauding Blight-Priest seem irrelevant in the face of the new Vampire BFFs Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose and Bloodthirsty Conqueror. And Hall of Heliod's Generosity feels a bit too specific to really make an impact. What do you think of the updated list?
