Call of the Ring

Enchantment

At the beginning of your upkeep, the Ring tempts you.

Whenever you choose a creature as your Ring-bearer, you may pay 2 life. If you do, draw a card.

If you're looking for more draw without sacrificing a creature slot, there's also Firemane Commando from March of the Machine. It's kinda like Breena, so could potentially work in tandem with, or in replacement. Still, I wouldn't pass up on Breena's ability to buff up your team.

Glimmer Lens and Call of the Ring are both also newer options. I'm currently using Call of the Ring in a couple of decks. Pacing-wise, it is comparable also to Phyrexian Arena, but The Ring Tempts You offers some additional bonuses which reward aggro play patterns, one of which being to draw then discard a card on attack.

Just the Cathar essentials for workplace supplies, Lordeh.

Yoooo I almost forgot about Wake the Dragon, DreadKhan. I might have to pick up a foil copy for my binders just so I can peep it every once in a while.

I recently got my foil copy of Goro-Goro and Satoru, and am really enjoying how much the lightning dragon pops in the art. The foil version of Call of the Ring also looks great.

I don’t wanna be picky, but that are more than your suggested 5 non-land cards from other sets (Agent of the Iron Throne, Putrefy, Mortality Spear, Netherborn Altar, Cranial Plating, Disciple of the Vault).

What do you think abiut using Call of the Ring. It provides constantly card-draw at a neglectable cost and constantly tempting triggers. Galadriel, Gift-Giver and Horn of the Mark can do some work.

May i ask you the reason of cutting Merry, Warden of Isengard? You will automatically tutoring him/Pippin, Warden of Isengard if you cast the other. Kinda-Cantrip.

But i like your approach. I restricted myself to up to 10 non-LotR cycle cards (lands too, currently used 9). Maybe we can share some thought?

Spivey deck! It’s a bit pricey, but I love the flavor of putting Teferi's Protection as it seems to me like slipping on the ring and disappearing. Speaking of that, Bilbo's Ring and Call of the Ring would serve to well. Giant Opportunity is a great payoff for food generation plus give you a fatty to go with all your littler tokens. Trail of Crumbs would be another good option here. Enjoy!
