Argeaux Pyromancer / Deck Doctor
Yeah, Control was already good at shutting down Saheeli (as I understand it anyways). The problem last season was Mardu Vehicles absolutely shut down Control. If Saheeli is now strong enough to reliably thump on Mardu Vehicles, it may become a Saheeli vs. various Control shells meta. Which would be awesome ...

Sorry, didn't see the grammatical error.
I was very tired when I was reading the card.
suns' is actually fine, in hindsight.

Even more than that, I think they probably meant as silently as :-)
April 19, 2017 6:36 a.m.
Btw, have you noticed the flavor text on Slither Blade yet? Too bad WOTC didn't have someone like Argeaux, Editor ...

On #1 decks, I'm not entirely sure. I know the ranking only updates daily (last time I was watching closely, updates were soon after midnight, US Eastern time), while the folders/votes/comments/views stats update in near-real-time. So that might be part of it. Another piece is I'm almost positive we're ranked not just on Votes but something like Votes/Views. I guess the idea is a deck that gets 20 votes with only 20 views should be ranked higher than one that gets 20 votes with 2000 views. That may not be the case, but I've noticed that a couple times when I was tied with someone for votes but they had either more or less views than me ...
Good luck en route to #1 :-)
Btw, I had noticed the extra cycle from the T/O app, but thanks for mentioning! I spotted that a while back, because when you go to 0 remaining on the app, it shows you have "-1" on the web page. I mentioned it to YeaGo as a potential bug and he got a good laugh :-D
April 18, 2017 4:30 p.m.
Awww Thanks :) You're definitely one of the people I respect the most on here too.
April 18, 2017 11:06 a.m.
I agree with you on Zombles, in part because they're going to be able to smoothly shift from max-Aggro early in the season to full-Control late.
I'm not sure we're going to get a really good list though until the pros start weighing in ... there are just so many options (Mono-B, BW, Esper ... plus lots of different flavors of each), and it's gonna take (LOTS) more brewing and testing until we get "there".
In the meantime though, I'm using this list: zombie amonkhet.
That's brilliant with Sweltering Suns!
April 17, 2017 9:32 p.m.
I LOVE Burn Amonkhet! Thanks for pulling it together, and I'll let you know if I sleeve it up IRL!
I've been brewing with -1/-1 Counters (using some of the fun new cards like Nest of Scarabs, Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons, and Soul-Scar Mage), but it seems increasingly like the mechanic is a powerhouse for Limited, but not quite pushed enough for Standard. I'm not done yet, but I have yet to build anything I'd want to post publicly ...
Good luck (and good skill) on your brews!
April 17, 2017 5:07 p.m.
Yeah, Minotaurs are looking extremely strong. I know how fun it is to love a tribe and I'm hopeful they kick butt vs. the Zombies and especially the Humans.
I've noticed that with 60 vs. 100 card decks too. I think it's because it's so much easier to test with 60, so when you drop something it can be based on data rather than just feel. And maybe because shaving from 4 to 3 is just less traumatic as shaving from 1 to 0. Either way, that's by far the toughest part about EDH!

Hey Argeaux! I'm still a deckling and very bad at building decks, and I saw yours and they look great! I came over to your account to look at some others and I saw that you like to help out on standard decks, I have a standard deck in need of help, I'll see if I can put a link here using a Mobile device...http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/the-revolting-revolt-deck/

Naya Aggro - here's the first rough sketch. Manabase is prototype.
April 13, 2017 8:20 a.m.
First off: Is your name pronounced the same way "bordeux" is?
Then: I don't expect to win the protour, I just want a working deck. As you may know I like to brew, but the last time i played standard for real was Theros-Khans...
I'll trow together a list and send you later.
April 13, 2017 3:15 a.m.
Plan B for Minotaur hub, if needed: You and me each create 20 EDH Minotaur decks and upload to EDHREC. Would make 'em a bigger tribe than Werewolves! >:-)
April 12, 2017 8:14 p.m.
Amonkhet is looking fun. No idea of course if it's going to shake up Standard enough for my tastes, but I think I'm going to be playing more Limited at least.
By the way, stumbled across a Lego Chandra ... amazing!

So now my prediction is Control (which I see is already being played), and a resurgence of Snek Deck, with Snek Players counting on people siding against Control, so not being able to run a whole lot of stuff that puts -1/-1 Counters on everything.
April 27, 2017 8:12 a.m.
Once again, the perfect gif.
April 27, 2017 8:02 a.m.
The reason I said s/he should ask the playgroup is that I have no idea about what type of playgroup it is.
If someone in my casual playgroup asked if they could keep playing the deck it would be a big negatory from me.
I hated that deck from the moment I saw it as I felt that an infinite combo in Standard is not right, unless it has a lot of answers.
However, my playgroup is all players with disposable incomes, not kids.
April 27, 2017 8 a.m.
MWorl91 you didn't read what I wrote.
I already understood that, before AgentGreen posted.
Now, show me how many decks out there run a lot of -1/-1 Counters that can match other decks in the meta.
Decks will need to be built to match up against Control.
Which is what I predicted in the "guess the meta" topic.
I don't think that running stuff that puts -1/-1 Counters on Creatures is going to be a good play against a Control deck that runs Torrential Gearhulk and a bunch of Counter spells.
The most common way of putting -1/-1 Counters on things will be Soul-Scar Mage, which I have seen used in quite a few decks.
Does everybody get it now?
April 27, 2017 6:35 a.m.
April 27, 2017 2:32 a.m.
AND hahahahahahahahahaha to all those lazy sons of bitches who used to run Copy Cat.
We will now see rampant Snek Decks I reckon.
April 26, 2017 10:56 p.m.
It weakens Copy Cat by getting rid of Spell Queller in favour of Ramp Creatures.
It is overly reliant on Glorybringer. You get rid of the Ramp Creatures or the Dragon itself and you easily shut it down.
Without the Spell Quellers it doesn't have as many ways of stopping that.
I'd rather see a build that ignores the Copy Cat combo all together, and went with heavier Control.
Some Essence Scatters to stop Aggro decks and some more Counter spells.
April 26, 2017 1:41 p.m.
Would you have a problem with me linking to your deck in my Sideboard notes?
It might end up driving some extra traffic your way, but will also tell people how to Board against you.
April 26, 2017 1:29 p.m.
I see that you added my Amonkhet Barbecue deck to a folder.
Is there any way you could hit this button, to show that you like it?
April 26, 2017 1:07 p.m.
It gets REALLY tricky on here to explain the finer points about how your deck works, don't you think?
I've got masses of text to try to explain how to play my deck, but there are still times where I have to choose between two equally good lines of play.
I did not know about Heckbent or Hellbent.
Hell isn't counted as a swear word in many countries, but I believe it is in America.
April 26, 2017 10:53 a.m.
I am taking about that particular league.
If Copy Cat continues to dominate I think the Pros will do what they did with #1 Mardu Vehicles and come up with a deck that outraces it.
Any league that is relying on either Copy Cat or Control to win is relying on established archetypes.
Hence why I say it is lacking imagination.
As much as I hated the way that #1 Mardu Vehicles dominated Standard, at least the original build was something different.
April 26, 2017 9:04 a.m.
My partner got confused one prerelease and built a 60 card deck.
We were all scrambling to help him cut it down to size.
April 25, 2017 10:27 a.m.
+1 for awesome name.
I'd love to give you some building help but unfortunately I'm not that good with EDH decks.
April 25, 2017 9:38 a.m.
It would be easier to comment on this if it was a deck list attached to your account.
Do you know how to do that?
April 25, 2017 9:36 a.m.
I know that a lot of people think that the top decks for the Amonkhet season are going to be Zombie decks.
What about you?
I wouldn't be surprised if Control decks make a bit of a comeback.
April 25, 2017 9:33 a.m.
If you had played during the last two Seasons you'd know how frustrating it is to have that thing come back from the Graveyard over and over and over.
Magma Spray takes care of that.
