Pabs4444 Deckling

Hey man! You going to update this deck? I saw that you saved my pummeler deck, so hopefully you can get ideas from that. Lightning Runner, Maulfist Doorbuster, and Architect of the Untamed seem too slow for this deck. I do like the Commencement of Festivities for how aggro this meta is with decks like mono red and Mardu vehicles dominating the format.Larger Than Life, Voltaic Brawler, and Servant of the Conduit need to go in the deck. I'm aware you already have a brawler, but it is so good in the deck it needs at least 3 copies.

Thought this was your deck. Okay. Definitely like the list and thank you for the feedback.

Cool. Thanks. I know Rishkar doesn't help much with energy but helps with the counter theme and also ramps which may be useful in certain situations.

Thanks for the link. Love the look of the sideboard. What would be your thoughts of Rishkar, Peema Renegade in the deck?

I do like the unique inclusion of Sage of Shaila's Claim. It is a similar Woodweaver's Puzzleknot. In exchange for the life gain, we get a 2/1 body that can trade in battle. It seems good against other aggressive decks. I just don't know if I would rather have a body that can trade but also is easy to remove or an artifact that gains the life, but their creatures stay around. Sage is clearly better in the control matchup.

Looks interesting. Is there a link to the original deck? What's the status of the sideboard?

Of course, oldmanm0nk3y! Anytime. Good luck with the deck.

Cut down on the Torment of Hailfire to maybe 1 or 2 copies. 3 is too consistent. It is the last thing you wan to see in the early game. Slither Blade is a strictly better Mist-cloaked. You want Duress somewhere in the 75. I have been messing with this idea for the longest time. My original deck with this concept is here: U/B mix. If you want to see the others, I'd just say check my page. I have about 3-4 different variations of it. Add another 2 Torment of Scarabs. have a few copies of Dreamstealer in the deck. Maybe splash red for Angrath, the Flame-Chained. Another version I have is here: U/B Mix (Alternative). If you haven't bought it already, I wouldn't recommend The Scarab God only because this seems like a deck you're trying to make budget.

Has the deck updated since the loss of Attune?

February 13, 2018 5:56 p.m.

Why no Heroic Intervention, Woodweaver's Puzzleknot, or Lathnu Hellion? I like how your deck is not too reliant on Pummeler for the win. I have a similar approach, but moreso for the sideboard. I like the creative support such as Khenra Charioteer and Aethertorch Renegade. I have wanted both, but I have not been able to find a spot for them. You may also like the idea of Aether Chaser with it's first strike ability making it hard to kill and providing that early energy.

February 13, 2018 5:48 p.m.

I only disagree about Glorybringer because Lathnu is cheaper on the mana curve which is significant. It also has energy synergy in the deck. I run them in the main board. What is being changed for the banning of Attune with Aether? Also, why is there no Larger Than Life?

djnewellmit Thank you for all of the help you have provided! You make really good points and have awesome decks. Keep up the great work!

And maybe take out 1 Spire of Industry for a second Inventors' Fair. The life gain can be relevant in board stalls and the ability to tutor is not something to underestimate. Also, that life gain can offset any life lost paid through Spire.

Storm the Vault is crazy good in this deck! Also, I'd highly recommend taking out 1 of each module in favor of Panharmonicon. It helps with ETB's, still triggers the modules, and speeds up the deck while maintaining consistency.

Why no Larger Than Life? Also, Ichorclaw Myr is an amazing infect creature because any combat tricks that give trample make it a threat regardless of being blocked or not. Have you considered splashing red for combat tricks? You already run Wooded Foothills that could fetch for one. Maybe Stomping grounds to keep up the tutor availability with forests. Temur Battle Rage could be a perfect choice for this deck.

Good luck with the deck! Just a reminder, sideboard needs to be at most 15 cards. Maybe take out both harvesters. I'd put one of them into the mainboard to have 2 total and take out Rhonas to keep main board at 60. Rhinos is just hard to trigger because the only creature you have with high enough power to activate it is Bristling Hydra. Assuming you haven't played a pump spell. Looking forward to hearing how the deck performs!

If settle is a big problem in your meta, I would highly suggest Admiral's Order. It was probably printed exclusively to counter Settle the Wreckage.

bumcheeks Wow! What an amazing flavor win!

February 6, 2018 3:52 p.m.

Hey man! Sorry to hear the deck didn't hold up how you thought, but those definitely seem like tough matchups. Chart a Course may be better in place of Lifecrafter's Bestiary just because 3 mana to set up in this deck seems a turn too slow. Maybe even more important than card draw would be Dive Down to protect your key pieces. Maybe change out Glassblower's Puzzleknot with Woodweaver's Puzzleknot. It's main strength is providing that key third energy whereas glassblower has only 2. However, the life gain can be enough to survive another turn against those agro decks to give yourself time to either stabilize or have the time to win. Before I can get better judgement of this deck, what were the decks it performed well against?
