After looking at huge creature i really wanna build with eldrazi Is there a commander you guys would recommend more than others I know a lot of people will tell me to use Animar, Soul of Elements but I'm looking for a commander that wont kill my wallet (i do need to buy over 70 other cards for sure if not 99 others)

If you're looking for big maybe try Omnath, Locus of Rage. You can build him relatively inexpensive while still being competitive and there's some really good primers on here to help you get started.

As far as eldrazi go it's tough, Kozilek, the Great Distortion is a cool deck but then you need to buy a lot of expensive eldrazi titans to make it really go off.

I agree with animar and omnath!

Xenagos, God of Revels is another scary gruul general. Giving haste to an annihilating eldrazi yikes

If you want something consistent then maybe Thrasios, Triton Hero + Kydele, Chosen of Kruphix

A Neheb, the Eternal ramp deck might be fun! Probably better options out there but it seems worth a try. No idea how it'll work with Eldrazi but if you're looking for a unique deck...

Mayael the Anima can be really good for "cheating" out big creatures. You just don't get the on-cast triggers from the Elzradi is all, but you can stack the deck with other super-huge monsters like Worldspine Wurm, Blightsteel Colossus and Godsire to get some lovely boardstates.

Plus other ways to "cheat" creatures in like Quicksilver Amulet and Elvish Piper.

I once saw a game that went

T1: Land > Sol Ring

T2: Land > Quicksilver Amulet

T3: Land > in opponent's end step, amulet in Worldspine Wurm

T4: Inquisitor's Flail on the wurm, swing for 30.

It was not a long game :P

Oh also, Rakdos, Lord of Riots

Super easy to have Eldrazi costing 0 mana to cast. Scary.

I play a Jhoira of the Ghitu deck that suspends a bunch of Eldrazi with the hopes of casting them for free in turn 4. It may give you some ideas.

I like Kydele, Chosen of Kruphix. Pack the deck with sustainable draw and use Kydele to help cast expensive and/or -specific Eldrazi. You also get access to great ramp through green (sorceries/creatures) and blue (artifacts).

Bonus: the ROE Eldrazi titans can be used to replenish your deck if you have to discard them or if they die. This can help prevent you from decking out of your draw is too good (can such a phrase even be used?).

I second Rakdos, Lord of Riots with Eldrazi.

If you're looking for a sneakier deck, Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge can play all of the "Grixis" eldrazi from BFZ block, and you can play up all of those sweet Ingest/Processor synergies

You need Thraximundar!! His ability works beautifully with the Annihilator ability that the Eldrazi have, and he'll only cost you $2-3 on TCGPlayer or eBay.

I was also going to suggest Rakdos, Lord of Riots as several others here have mentioned. If you go with Thraximundar as your commander, you can include Rakdos in the deck as one of the other 99.

Animar and Ancestral Statue will enable you to cast any creature in your deck.

Rogues passage for the unblockable and Lightning Greaves/Swiftfoot Boots to keep opponents from Pathing Animar.

Daeyel Animar has protection from white, so no Pathing happening anyway :)

I really enjoy the previous suggestions of Rakdos, Lord of Riots with Eldrazi in EDH. I like to pair it with some cards like Sulfuric Vortex to make sure you can deal some unblockable damage in order to cast Rakdos. There's nothing quite like the feeling of laying down an 11 drop Eldrazi for free.

Here's 5 commanders that would be great I just can't pick one so I'm gonna ask one more time for your help

Rakdos, Lord of RiotsLike everyone said he's amazing can cast you your eldrazi for free if you can deal the damage and he let me run my favorite card Sorin Markov with his -3 as a second win con with all the life burning spell and abilities and get red and black eldrazi.

Jhoira of the GhituCasting eldrazi foris so great I know 4 turns must past first but I was told there's cards that can remove counters so they could be cast faster and they also gain hasteAnd I saw a little card I liked Wonder flying eldrazi is just crazy to think.

Kruphix, God of HorizonsNot much to tell but from what i unserstand as long as he's on he field you never lose your manaSo i guess i could tap all my lands at the end of my opponent turn then get them back on my turm and have more mana to cast my eldrazi earl and again Wonder but this time i could also get Birthing Pod and some green and blue eldrazi in the mix.

Saskia the UnyieldingI usually end up playing in a group where nobody gives a damn about me till at least 1 player is dead and I was thinking that I could probably end up killing 2 players at once with her abilityMaking an eldrazi 20/20 unblockable is fairly easy with ramp and with 1 or 2 equipments and in mid to late game when lifes are low or just a little bit higher than half is just easy to finish off in red.

Kynaios and Tiro of MeletisGets you lands gets you draws And people think you're playing group hug and then bam big creatures and big slaps and you can back up your stuff with negation blue and did i mention Wonder?.

So what do you guys think ?

05seb05 says... #18

I don't think I've ever seen a Kynaios and Tiro Eldrazi deck, the colors would give you plenty of options for creatures to include. Kruphix would be great mana wise, but I couldn't personally imagine building an Eldrazi aggro deck without red. It just depends on the playstyle you want.

Segala says... #19

05seb05 not sure I understands your reasoning about the red mana thingMany aggro eldrazi decks are colorless so not running red doesn't seem to be an issue for them And if it's not an issue for them why would it be for me in simic colors

February 15, 2018 5:45 p.m.

05seb05 says... #20

Yeah you can run a colorless aggro deck but it's just a preference of mine to have the support cards for aggro that you can get with red. You can run aggro with any color combination of course. For example cards like Anger and Fervor to give those big boys haste when they enter. But again there are similar cards in other colors.

epajula says... #21

I really like Etali, Primal Storm. You would trigger cast triggers. Red has some ramp, draw, burn, and has awesome synergy with artifacts so you have other options in the archetype you go into.

February 16, 2018 6:46 p.m.

Segala says... #22

epajula i appreciate the suggestion but he's not part of the 5 commanders.

February 16, 2018 7:38 p.m.

epajula says... #23

I like Meletis Bros. At first I didn't, because once your opponent sees the deck it may affect replayability. However, it includes colors of the other commanders you're considering, and you can always mess with one of the Simic partner generals, and Bruse Tarl, Boorish Herder game 2 so your opponents are thrown off. When I build an edh deck I want something that will last.

One con is that editing is always tough with any deck. 4-colors is worse.

S1ayerMonkey says... #24

I'm going to say stick to Rakdos, Lord of Riots. The other commanders are good, but why not run Rakdos and play It That Betrays on turn 5? Throw in a couple cards like Butcher of Malakir and Malakir Cullblade to compliment the "Annihilator" ability and you're set to go.

My second sugestion would be Jhoira of the Ghitu if going by your list, or Mayael the Anima if you're open to others.
