Liliana of the Moon

Liliana

This is a deck that I built, and is a Liliana Planeswalker deck. Liliana is my favorite Planeswalker, and with the new rule change I was quick to start brewing. The deck is going to go through different changes as I evolve it, but the base of it something I will keep the same. The base requires multiple Liliana, black moon like control, and Demigod of Revenge as a spicy win condition.

The Planeswalkers

Liliana Tribal

Liliana Vess

Liliana of the Veil is one of the strongest Planeswalkers ever printed. This card alone is strong enough to win many games, and is the most iconic of all the Liliana printings.

Liliana, the Last Hope the second strongest Liliana, and possibly the perfect combination with Liliana of the Veil by being able to destroy little creatures by up-ticking instead of down-ticking, having creature recur ability, and an ult that overtakes game, and is a more direct win-con.

Having both Liliana, the Last Hope and Liliana of the Veil out at the same time is a power house of a combination. Veil can control hands, destroy big creatures by forcing the opponent to sacrifice them, and decimate the opponent's board state with her ult. Last Hope can destroy little creatures, recur creatures, and create infinite zombies. This board state is one of the most powerful boards you can have.

Liliana of the Dark Realms is known as one of the weaker printings of Liliana, but I believe is still extremely useful. She thins your deck, can buff or kill creatures, and give you a large supply of mana. She would see more play of her down-tick didn't kill her, but her down-tick can still alter games. Her up-tick to grab swamps out of the deck is her main use, allowing me to get the fifth land drop for my big threats, or giving me a card to discard with Liliana of the Veil. Her ult gives you the ability to tap one swamp and cast damnation, and this is one of the most powerful feelings I have ever felt. It also combos well with Lavaclaw Reaches by being able to make it a huge beater to finish games if needed.

Liliana, Death's Majesty is a Planeswalker that lets me mill to create blockers, recur creatures from the grave, and have a one sided board wipe. Being able to mill in this deck can be super helpful with my creature win-con being Demigod of Revenge. Also creating blockers to protect my Planeswalkers is pretty good too, especially when you can accelerate Liliana, the Last Hope ult as a bonus. Plus being able to slam her turn five and bring back a demigod from the grave is a super powerful play. To top it all off she can preform a one-sided board wipe if needed.

Liliana Vess is the original Liliana, and also one of the most powerful cards in the deck. She can control the opponent's hand without hurting yours, tutor a card to the top of the deck, and steal all of your opponent's creatures by resurrecting them under your control along with your own. Her most powerful ability is to tutor a card to the top of your library because being able to know you have the answer is pretty strong, or she can set you up to win by getting something with more board presence.

Other Planeswalkers

Chandra, Torch of Defiance is one of the most powerful Planeswalkers in modern. She can extend your hand, burn the opponents, give you mana-ramp, remove creatures, and has a win-con that burns your opponent for five for every spell you cast. Being able to cast the top card of the top of your library is pretty strong especially if you have Liliana Vess to control what the top card is. Also if a card you can't cast or don't want to, you get non-targeted burn to make up for it. Her other plus-one is to add to your pool. This is extremely powerful and can alter games by letting you either cast things early, or by letting you cast multiple things. Combine this with Liliana of the Dark Realms, and you got mana for days.

The Spells

The board wipes Damnation and Anger of the Gods are two of the most powerful board clears in modern, plus Anger doesn't kill Demigod so it can sometimes be a one-sided board wipe.

Targeted removal being Fatal Push one of the most powerful removal spells in modern.

Discard being Thoughtseize which is the strongest discard in modern, and can decide games turn one sometimes.

The Enchantments

Blood Moon is one of the most iconic control/prison cards that has morphed the format of modern. Being able to limit the usable amount of mana your opponent has, while not affecting yourself is super powerful. This card in infamous for being able to win games by itself.

The Creatures

Demigod of Revenge is one of my favorite cards, and I have wanted to craft a deck with him for a while now. Having discard, mill, creature recur ability, and mana ramp is the perfect combination for this big boy. His normally hard to reach mana cost is no problem in this deck since all my sources produce red or black mana, and since his mana cost is red or black Blood Moon doesn't effect him. Demigod is a 5/4 flying haste creature that can bring back more Demigods for support, meaning that he can possibly do 20 damage if your return all copies to the field. Don't let your memes be dreams kids. He's and extremely hard creature to deal with because you can't counter him easily, in fact if you miss time your counter he can bring that copy back along with any others in the grave. If you remove him he can just be brought back by another, so you could just be wasting a spell or creature trying to deal with him.
