OKTwo things I definitely like about this deck is 1, its nice and creative and it works post-rotation.Critique PartI would say no to Deadbridge Shamans because they aren't really worth it. They easily get killed(Which I think you want), but 3 mana is not worth a 1 card discard. If you really want to make them discard, consider Thoughtseize or Mind Rot.I would also say no to Eyeblight Assassin, there are better ways to remove permanents like Bile Blight. I would suggest adding 2 more Shaman of the Pack and 1 more Nissa, Vastwood Seer  Flip.Regarding your lands I would throw in Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth.Besides that, I like it!

doriboncore, deck looks good, nice modification of an intro deck. +1

In a game you really want a 1 drop mana elf and the best way to get one is to play 4x of one of them or both. I recommend going with 4x Elvish Mystic or 4x Gnarlroot Trapper or 4x of both. If you don't like Trapper, some don't, then go with 4x Leaf Gilder instead.

Shaman of the Pack is the best elf and usually the win con for elves, I would definitely go up to 4x Shaman of the Pack.

You are already playing 4x Sylvan Messenger, this is good!

A good constant elf core that I am using is 4x Elvish Mystic, 4x Gnarlroot Trapper, 4x Dwynen's Elite, 4x Elvish Visionary, 4x Shaman of the Pack and 4x Sylvan Messenger.

Good luck with you deck.

I'd probably pull Leaf Gilder and replace with another Elvish Mystic. Also, I'd go to four Shaman of the Pack. I think this looks interesting and I like the use of the Managorger Hydra. I'm using it too - it becomes a distraction for my opponent.

I really like your deck but I would recommend Chord of calling and more elvish mystics. I would also run obelisk of urd because it makes all of you're elves powerful, the visionaries and mystics can actually attack when you have the obelisk. Other than that I think you have a pretty good deck, +1 from me!

I'm not sure I like Chord of Calling cause only Shaman of the Pack is really worth searching for. I will probably add Obelisk of Urd and another Shaman of the Pack if I can acquired them.

Chord of Calling is worth it just to search for Shaman of the Pack. In standard elves deck, at least for me, my best card is not Dwynen, Gilt-Leaf Daen, nor is it Nissa, Vastwood Seer  Flip. The best card is Shaman of the Pack. It wins 75% of games, so being able to search for it is important. Also, I believe you could run some Reclamation Sage, as it does an excellent job of killing Courser of Kruphix and shutting down U/R artifacts, making it also an excellent Chord of Calling target.

I roll with 4 Obelisk of Urd. Collected Company is another good card to have in there, I roll with 2 of those and 2 Chord of Calling.

I would take out or side board the might of the masses for 1 more Collected company and 2 obelisks of urd, at least those.

A Chord of Calling was acquired... now just got to figure out what to replace with it.

I run a very similar deck and find no use for Nissa, Vastwood Seer  Flip. Games usually run so fast that I never got use for her. With Shaman of the Pack and Foul-Tongue Shriek do your heavy hitting for you I would suggest to add more of them. Or another Collected Company

I see you already have four shaman.

Nissa, Vastwood Seer  Flip's purpose is to pull out a forest to thin the deck while at the same time providing a 2/2 elf body and a distraction for my opponents.

That's how I see Nissa, Vastwood Seer  Flip, too. I put the card down and forget about it while my opponent's trying to figure out how to kill it.

I like this set. When/what will you use Might of the Masses for? I tried it a bit without much success, but I might not have been using it right.

Thinking of removing two Managorger Hydras for two Den Protectors, in order to be able to pull back either Shaman of the Pack or Foul-Tongue Shriek from the graveyard if needed. Just not sure if its worth it. The Managorger Hydra does seem to be a threat the opponent needs to respond too asap. Options are welcome.

I'm playing a very similar elf deck myself, but it has performed so badly that, in desperation, I splashed white for Abzan Charms and the potential to drop in some white answer or even some Siege Rhinos to help life totals along.

I am curious of three things:

(1) how do you play the deck (do you drop elves, sit back, and drop shamans in hopes of doing enough bites to kill, or do you wait and swing only when you have Foul-Tongue Shriek)? With so many unthreatening 1/1 and 2/2 weenies on the board, no one fears elf combat, and they serve as lemmings to the slaughter.

(2) do you win against decks with lifegain? they always seem to win the race and it becomes an Achilles heal to my deck, unless I start dropping Tainted Remedys.

(3) is Den Protector really helpful? they're the only morph creature, so opponents know when you're trying to use it and will often kill it before you can use it, otherwise it's a 5-mana Dirty with a 3/2 body. If you're getting a shaman every time, it's basically just a Gravedigger with 1 more power. In that case, Palace Siege could be fun!

thewyzman,

I will admit the deck matches up pretty badly against Abzan. Which is why I run Infinite Obliteration in the sideboard, in hopes to remove the large threats before they become a problem.

Typically, we attempt to attack early before the opponent can build up a board state. As for attacking late game, we have a significant a threats that can destroy a blocker, such as Titanic Growth or Might of the Masses. Foul-Tongue Shriek is great game finisher when attacking all out, becoming effectively another Shaman of the Pack.

I haven't ran into a life gain deck, that has been able to out race my deck with exception of those pesky Abzan decks.

As for Den Protector, you are right it is basically just a 5 mana recursion spell, but it also provides a distraction for them to waste their removal on.

I like your idea of Infinite Obliteration to deal with the creatures you just can't deal with any other way.

Like you, I really wanted to play Chord of Calling in My Pointy-Eared Dudes!. Now that it is gone from Standard, what should the plan be for regaining consistency in the deck (particularly with being able to find your sideboard answers)?

Shadows of the Past helps us scry for more dudes when ours get dead. It's no tutor by any means, but it's decent.

Heya play elves also, I splash white, but I use Cryptolith Rite it allows me to use creatures for mana. I use Eerie Interlude it allows me to dodge board wipes and used with elf's on the board can trigger enter battlefield effects. So that's more tokens, card draw, coco.

My deck named WE WILL ELF YOU !!!!
