Deck's purpose is to cast Emrakul by using Polymorph on a creature. 3 types of creatures on our side: the leaving weapons (Flayer Husk and Batterskull. The second one is our second win condition), the manifest cards (
Cloudform
, which has the enormous advantage of having hexproof), and the living lands (
Mutavault
, Khalni Garden). As you can see, the deck has no creatures except for Emrakul, the one we are summoning for free once Polymorph resolves.
In order to cast our winning spell, we have to control the opponent and to manage somehow the draw. To do these two things, there are some counters and some cantrips. Finally our last option to gain a creature to be targeted: using the
Threads of Disloyalty
on an enemy creature OR combined with Swan Song or Reality Shift.
One last problem is: what if I draw Emrakul during the game? The solution of this is a card called Monastery Siege. Having this in play means that if you draw Emrakul (which is a very rare fact, considering also the control on the draw with Peer Through Depths), then you simply reshuffle it in library as you discard him. The win condition is simply delayed.
Sideboard zone: Generally we have to fear most of all cards like Slaughter Games or Extirpate, which are even uncounterable. To deal with them, we have only the Leyline of Sanctity option or the
Deflection
option. Another good card is the Proteus Staff, which can do basically the same task of Polymorph. The other slots are dedicated to specific decks we can face at tournaments. For now I have in mind Torpor Orb against the Splinter Twin Deck, Damping Matrix against Affinity, Bribery against Tron,
Squelch
against the Relic of Progenitus.
Any help is appreciated, because this is only a little different prototype from other Polymorph decks.
