lThis is a total control deck with no creatures and an attempt to win with Approach of the Second Sun (which is the only way this deck can win)
Counterspells: we need to Counter a lot of things like planeswalkers, creatures and many others, so we have Negate, Disallow and Revolutionary Rebuff in the main deck, but also in the SB we have
Censor
, Dispel (against other control deck), Summary Dismissal (specially against Ulamog) and Ceremonious Rejection.
Approach of the Second Sun: Only way to win!!!, so, protect it at all costs!
Creature control/Removal: i rather prefer the kill/sacrifice creature more than a counterspell, so thats why we have Blessed Alliance, Fumigate, Engulf the Shore, Cast Out. Compelling Deterrence is there if my opponent put a Gideon of the Trials Emblem
Planeswalkers: I choose to run the only two Planeswalkers that Azorious can have, and mostly for their "Draw card" ability, but they do a good job!
Card draw: Glimmer of Genius proved to be an excellent draw engine, while Pull from Tomorrow offers an equiparable Blue Sun's Zenith effect, which is cool!
Maybeboard: Chilling Grasp and Repel the Abominable: this two cards were chosen because of the Mardu Vehicles deck, since it is way too fast to deal with it, i have to make some time until i draw a Fumigate. Failure / Comply is against control decks or once again, Gideon. Sphinx of the Final Word against a total control deck, and since this deck have only one way to win and it costs a lot of mana, i cant win a "Counter battle". Hieroglyphic Illumination is here just as a "replacement" of Glimmer of Genius
