I really like Twisted Abomination it's like another fetch land that I can bring back with living end and can really help hit the 3rd land drops especially with a low land count. The regenerate is a nice bonus and can help in combat and protect against cards like bolt.

I was running 2 card:2x Faerie Macabre (SHM) main before but they were replaced with the Twisted Abomination as I didn't feel they did enough in most match ups. at most some cute stuff to stop a snap caster or surgical extraction mostly. The only deck I wish I had them against is grishoalbrand but the game 1 match up is so bad anyway that it doesn't really matter just need to hope for Leyline of the Void post board.

you should definitely play 4 Verdant Catacombs over the 2 Wooded Foothills 2 Bloodstained Mire as they can get every land in your deck where as foothills and mire each miss half the basics. I am only playing the split for budget reasons right now
