Background

A new twist on my old Stasis / Land Tax / Land's Edge deck. My original stasis deck was so irritating to play against that the first iteration was stolen from me and thrown into a bonfire back in 1999. The guy who stole it gave me booze in return and since I was a dumb 19-year-old at the time, it seemed like a fair exchange. Now, I wish that I had reached into the flames to at least pull out my The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale. It might be worth the 2nd degree burns.

How to play this deck

Lock down your opponent with Stasis. Prevent them from attacking you with Propaganda or Ghostly Prison. Use Land Tax to get lands to upkeep Stasis or feed Land's Edge / Seismic Assault. Bounce lands back to your hand with Slab Hammer, Trade Routes, or Tidal Bore to trigger Land Tax again. Put Black Vise on your opponents to keep them bleeding and Ivory Tower on yourself to counteract the occasional damage that gets through. Howling Mine will let you pull islands faster and force your opponents to mill their own decks. Forsaken City can be used to keep your Stasis alive at the expense of exiling cards from your hand so use with care. Watch out for Enchantment/Artifact destruction.

This is a throwback deck that is unfun to play against. I only use it to mess with younger players.
