Never-ending Zombiesss (First FNM Deck)

Standard Budget FNM Mono-Black Zombie

So mono-black zombies was my first standard deck, and the results were pretty disappointing, causing me to not spend a whole lot of time dealing with standard. Now, EMN delivers a few new pieces that I think really elevate the archetype and I'm looking forward to taking this back to FNM and seeing what it can do!

Please let me know if you have any suggestions. I understand that splashing blue could be a greT idea, but I want to give this deck an honest chance to find success!

Overall Record: 1-3

I feel like the deck did fairly well overall, but I had some issues with mana flooding and finishing out some guys that drug on. I feel like I either need a better way to finish the game early or something that helps increase my chance at winning in games that go longer. I mana flooded three different times, always in later rounds, so I'm thinking this might actually be an issue with me when I pick up the cards after a round and don't shuffle well enough. I also think that I need to get better at utilizing my sideboard and thinking more about what I'm bringing in and taking out. All in all, I had a ton of fun and hope to make a couple of tweaks before I take it back for another FNM.

Fleshbag Marauder is a beast! Definitely the one card that makes people play differently. Smothering Abomination worked really well when he was on the field, I never had issues with the forced sac and the card advantage helped me get out of some sticky situations.

Match 1: G/W Company - 0-2 Round 1 was very up in the air but I wasn't able to finish him off. Round 2 he played collected company on turn 4 and turn 5 and it was just over.

Match 2: G/R Werewolves - 2-0 In Round 1 I was able to get some nice recursion going with Relentless Dead and Fleshbag Marauder to clear his board and swing in for lethal. Round 2 I had enough zombies out that I could win by going wide and 2 copies of Nantuko Husk to sac creatures to with a Zulaport Cutthroat out.

Match 3: 4 Color Control - 1-2 I won the first round without any issues, but after sideboarding he was able to stablize and get to the late game. Both times he put me on a clock with Sphinx of the Final Word and I couldn't target it and didn't draw Smothering Abomination when I needed it. I also flooded out those two rounds.

Match 4: Red Eldrazi - 1-2 The first round was an easy win for me, I had Smothering Abomination out after casting two Diregraf Colossus and was able to sac the zombie tokens and got a lot of card advantage. It was interesting to win this round without either Nantuko Husk or Zulaport Cutthroat on the field. The second and third rounds he drew a lot more burn and was able to keep more of my creatures off the board while doing some direct damage. I also got mana flooded again in the third round.
