Gavony Unhallowed Discussion

Liliana's Mastery and Liliana, the Last Hope I know the planeswalker is over the price, but its pretty solid for a zombie deck. Disallow would be ebtter rather than Cancel. Metallic Mimic and Adaptive Automaton for any tribal situation. From Under the Floorboards is good if you have a way to cast it by madness cost. Graf Harvest is solid for making all your zombies have menace. Bontu's Monument to make some of your creatures cheaper, and maybe even Bontu the Glorified as a sac outlet for creatures like plague belcher. If you had Gavony Unhallowed it'll help with buffing it up. Liliana's Elite could potentially be big, with the creatures that are in your graveyard.

Hi 5finga, thanks for your many suggestions. I don't really like Voracious Null nor Gutless Ghoul because their active abilities have an additional mana cost (even though that cost is perfectly balanced in the case of Gutless Ghoul). I also never understood the popularity of Twisted Abomination (paying 6 for a 5/3?? , ok it can regen, but... Maybe only if cycled and then Exhumed). Similar thought for Gavony Unhallowed, it costs too much and for this reason Carrion Feeder is better. Cemetery Recruitment is good, but it would be perfect for a , with its 2 drop cost is replaced by the better Ghoulcaller's Chant. Also, it couldn't combo with Nameless Inversion, because it explicitly says "creature card" and not only "zombie card" as the Chant does. On the other hand, Wight of Precinct Six may be perfect, I don't know how I missed it! Thank a lot for this last piece of advice! I know it's a long answer but I wanted to write down all my thoughts about these cards.

ye, probably to much value cards in the graveyard for gurmag angler. but does Gray Merchant of Asphodel really fit in? maybe Gavony Unhallowed would do a better job, since this deck sacrifices a few creatures.

Unearth,

Festering Mummy,

Gavony Unhallowed,

Twisted Abomination,

Austin_Smith_of_Cards: Sorry for not responding for so long. If I'm not currently playing the deck, it kinda gets lost in the shuffle, pun unintended--or unpuntended.

Anyway, I like Gavony Unhallowed. I considered Foundry Street Denizen for a bit, but I like your idea better because of the permanence of it. Thanks!

My original idea was that you can always sacrifice a goblin token generated by Mogg War Marshal or Kathari Bomber if Stingscourger is not around. Because they will still put counters on both Gavony Unhallowed and the Mortician Beetle and hit your opponent for five. But I am not sure how to balance it out with the other creatures... I meant it mosty as safeguard in case you get stuck in the beginning of the game with no Beetle out.

Gavony Unhallowed seems like the nasty beater this deck wants; extremely high toughness and gets big really quickly.

You could try Unearth in place of or alongside Raise Dead, I think. More efficient, and is able to target most of your creatures anyway.
