Wandering Mind

Creature — Horror

Flying

When this enters, look at the top six cards of your library. You may reveal a noncreature, nonland card from among them and put it into your hand. Put the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order.

My bad about Terror of the Peaks. I could swear I saw you wrote on a comment that you had removed it.

As your deck is currently built, Enduring Vitality does almost nothing. The cheapest creature you have is Coiling Oracle. Dryad of the Ilysian Grove is still better. Yes, it does make Wandering Mind very slightly worse, but the entire decks just gets better. Again, you don't need to care about basic land types. Having all lands have basic land types just means they tap for all colors and, if you copy it, you get two additional land drops every turn. This highlights another things you should work on.

You seem really focusing on trying to maximise everyone single bit of synergy between cards and sometimes overlook the benefits other cards can bring to your deck. Marauding Raptor is debatle because it can kill your own creatures and copying it might no be the best. Instead, you focused on not having enough dinosaurs, which is the irrelevant part of the card. If you look at MTGtop8, you'll see thay it's used in some dinosaur decks, but quite a few other decks without dinosaurs also use it. Same goes for Intrepid Paleontologist. I have a Nethroi, Apex of Death without a single dinosaur. In that deck, it just works as a mana dork that's also graveyard hate. Think of it as Scavenging Ooze thar also generates mana.

Heroic Intervention is one of those cards that is good to have redundancy. If you copy it, then opponents will need to counter it twice to interact with your board.

Kazierts, this deck does not have a strong focus on dinosaurs, so I am not certain about Marauding Raptor or Intrepid Paleontologist.

I definitely considered putting Dryad of the Ilysian Grove into this deck, but this deck has very few, if any, cards that care about basic land types, and I also need to be careful about putting too many creatures into this deck, since each additional creature is one fewer card that shall synergize with Wandering Mind.

This deck already contains a copy of Terror of the Peaks, and I have no problem with removing Ionize, so what would you recommend as a replacement, for it? I do need to keep at least several counterspells, in this deck, as it is a blue deck.

DemonDragonJ on How Can I Put Sunhome …

I would like to put Sunhome Guildmage into these two EDH decks, but I am not certain what cards I should remove to make room, for it. For my Gisela, Blade of Goldnight deck, it shall be an easy decision to replace Boros Charmfoil with the guildmage, but I am less certain about my Numot, the Devastator deck, since replacing the charm with the guildmage would leave that deck with one fewer card that would synergize with Whirlwind of Thought and Wandering Mind, so I could possibly replace another card, with the guildmage, instead.

What does everyone else say, about this? How can I put Sunhome Guildmage into these two decks? I certainly would appreciate any feedback that you are able to offer, on this subject.

I have replaced Clout of the Dominus, Scourge of the Nobilis, and Steel of the Godhead with Blind Obedience, Comet Storm, and Triskaidekaphile, which reduced this deck's average converted mana cost from 3.71 to 3.69, since the latter cards better fit the theme of this deck; that is one less card that synergizes with Whirlwind of Thought and Wandering Mind, but it is always nice to have an additional win condition in a deck, especially one that provides fuel for itself.

I have made several changes to this deck, as follows:

I replaced Vithian Renegades with Reclamation Sage, because the latter creature is more versatile.

I have replaced Vedalken Orrery with Tidal Barracuda, which is one less card that shall synergize with Wandering Mind but one more card that shall synergize with Riku, himself.

I have replaced Clout of the Dominus, Favor of the Overbeing, and Runes of the Deus with Galvanic Iteration, Regrowth, and Rite of Replication, since the auras did not match the theme of this deck, but the new cards most certainly do. I had contemplated putting Flame of Anor in this deck, but the deck contains only two wizards: Riku himself and Dualcaster Mage, so that card would not work well in this deck, and I also very much wished to put See Double in this deck, as well, but the fact that that spell cannot be copied reduces its potential synergy with this deck's strategy.

Amazingly, the average converted mana cost of this deck remained the same at 3.82, but the color distribution is now slightly different.

I have replaced Dominus of Fealty with Wandering Mind, which reduced this deck's average converted mana cost from 4.55 to 4.52, which is very nice, as this deck still has a mana curve that is too high for my liking, because, while the dominus definitely fit the theme of this deck, its casting cost was simply too color-intensive.

I have replaced Dominus of Fealty and Niv-Mizzet, Parun with Wandering Mind and Oggyar Battle-Seer, which reduced the average converted mana cost of this deck from 3.87 to 3.82, because, as awesome as those creatures were, their mana costs were too color-intensive for a three-colored deck, so I have greatly reduced the number of colored mana symbols in this deck.

I have replaced Dominus of Fealty and Overbeing of Myth with Progenitor Mimic and Wandering Mind, whcih reduced the average converted mana cost of this deck from 3.94 to 3.92, because, as awesome as the original two creatures were, their mana costs were too color-intensive for a three-colored deck, so I am very glad to have reduced the number of colored mana symbols in this deck.
