Rootpath Purifier

Creature — Elf Druid

Lands you control and land cards in your library are basic.

Dryad and Omen do not make your Valakuts fetchable. They only affect "Lands you control" which only refers to your lands on the battlefield. Lands in libraries are always refered to as "land cards" and the effect would specify as such, if it DID mean all of those - compare the text on Rootpath Purifier for example.

Some new cards to consider after you become a multi million dollar engineer

Lands: All of the New Capenna sac lands. Obscura Storefront, Maestros Theater, Riveteers Overlook, Cabaretti Courtyard, Brokers Hideout. These will trigger landfalls 2x and let you search for the colors you need.

Instants/Sorceries Entish Restoration - If you have Omnath in play you hit 3 of his triggers in just one card Awaken the Woods - Pay X mana to make that many land creatures. Seems pretty good for landfall

Enchantments/Artifacts Conduit of Worlds - You can play lands from graveyard and if you are in a bind, cast spells from there too. Spelunking - Lands come in untapped Back to Basics - Ruins peoples lands if they arent playing basics

Creatures Nissa, Resurgent Animist - Pricey but another mana generator Greensleeves, Maro-Sorcerer - Another Token Generator Rootpath Purifier - Niche card but allows you to search for any land in your library

I mostly kept Armillary because colorless. I contemplated Shard Convergence as a replacement but it didn't work out as well.

For Cultivate, I used to run Tempt with Discovery. I am actually pondering replacing Armillary with Sword of Hearth and Home. Land drop and bouncing. I'd like to get a reliable creature that searches each turn but I'm riding Armillary after readding to test. Then swap to Cultivate for games and see which feels better. I went for more mana filters for now, until I can really nail down which searchers I like and regularly use. The major part of why Cultivate got cut was I always drew it mainly mid game and by that point, animar is like 14 counters deep and Selvala is out. But cost wise, I did like the 3 mana early game.

I honestly didn't even know Roaming existed and being colorless means free summons with enough counters. I am REALLY liking Hormagaunt. Aberrant would bring back some sorely needed removal.

I am trying to figure out how to squeeze Muldrifter in. Or at even Thought Monitor.

All suggestions are awesome. Just need to figure out what's become a stale draw since the update!! But I think I know which card I can cut first for Aberrant. Rootpath Purifier was useful when i had more ramp in the deck. Now she sort of just sits in my hand.

Epicurus I've been experimenting with Rootpath Purifier to do some well, nasty things.

I believe there's plenty of variability with how this shell can come together to support "Draw Go" mentality if you like the Control elements, and otherwise a lot of good Fog and Midrange capability through Green.

It leaves us all wondering.. when will we see our next crab?

VexenX The cuts I would make for Awaken the Woods would have to be a basic land or Nissa's Pilgrimage, at the floor the cards basically do the same thing you get a forest into play but the ceiling for awaken is much higher and one could argue game ending, Nissa's Pilgrimage can only fetch forests that's why I argue Nissa's over other like cards such as Cultivate which can color fix, also Awaken the Woods gets around anti search cards like Opposition Agent and Ashiok, Dream Render. As for Rootpath Purifier I don't think you run enough basic land search to make it worth picking up, and therefore I don't think it's pay off will be huge or note worthy.

Thank you for the response, Beebles! Your logic is sound. It might actually make more sense to stick something like Awaken the Woods or Rootpath Purifier in decks that either exist on a tighter budget and use more basics or just as general ramp for non-landfall decks. I considered putting an Awaken the Woods in my own Archelos, Lagoon Mystic deck but on second thought it might actually work better as ramp and a win-con for my Jetmir, Nexus of Revels deck. Actually, that sounds scarily effective for Jetmir... Thanks for the inspiration!
