Battle Mammoth

Creature — Elephant

Trample

Whenever a permanent you control becomes the target of a spell or ability an opponent controls, you may draw a card.

Foretell (During your turn, you may pay and exile this card from your hand face down. Cast it on a later turn for its foretell cost.)

seshiro_of_the_orochi, Yep!

Battle Mammoth could be used as a sideboard card also, you don't have to keep it in there all the time. (Not legal in tournaments but who cares). Would be exellent against control decks or builds with a lot of removal.

I will admit I was hesitant to suggest removing wurmy, but I did anyways. He (she?) didn't work that well in my Jodah, Archmage Eternal Big Spells deck, but your deck is clearly different so you're probably right.

One card I completely forgot about was Lurking Predators! It would be PERFECT for this deck! (I think). It's also a sneaky way of selecting your top-deck, even if there's not a creature on top.

ILuvMtg: More ideas to think about, thanks :) The two monarch cards are fine, but I have at least one non-monarch version of both of them in here. The card draw off of the monarch is useful in general, but the deck doesn't really need it. So I'll pass on that one. Apex Devastator is one hell of a card, but the price tag keeps me away from it. The same goes for vigor. Adding them would be cool, but I just bring myself to buying them. If I ever get to trade for them, they'll get in here asap.

Considering Goreclaw already grants trample by simply attacking, I'll definitely not get rid of Greatwurm. Many times, the deck plays like a storm deck, and wurm is basically a free spell at the end or mid of going off.

Battle Mammoth is a card I like a lot, but I think it isn't really thatgreat in here. I'll have to think about it.

Thank you a lot for the input!

No problem! you're right that Leyline is pretty useless now that I think about it. Some other cards to consider might be Battle Mammoth, Vigor, Regal Behemoth, and Apex Devastator. (some of those might be a bit outside your budget). You can decide whether you think that Dawnglade Regent is an upgrade over Archtype. One card to remove might be Impervious Greatwurm. You have several cards to give creatures trample, but if you don't get one then it can literally be stoped cold by a 0/1 plant token. It's a good card for this deck, but there are other creatures that are just strictly better.

Good luck!

In the past I've contemplated adding a third beater in Battle Mammoth. I'm unsure as to what I might take out though.

You're telling me. I got so overwhelmed I actually got Battle Mammoth mixed up with Aggressive Mammoth, which is the card I actually wanted to suggest. Both are great, nonetheless.

It's kind of hard to get a somewhat streamlined mono-G stompy deck as there are just sooo many insane cards. Just look at Cragplate Baloth. That card is a ridiculous stompy-card, but it simply went completely unnoticed because of the flood of new cards and the amazingness of green.

Thanks for the additional suggestions seshiro_of_the_orochi. I should've guessed Green is your jam based off the username lol.

I gotta say, Battle Mammoth is one of those cards I keep forgetting about with the deluge of stuff we've gotten this year. Also hard to believe that Kaldheim dropped earlier this spring lol.

Your Goreclaw deck looks great! When I first got into EDH about 2.5 years ago, I tried taking a crack at Mono-G then. I ended up with an even more disjointed Goodstuff green deck than what I have here. I tried Goreclaw, then Yeva, then Nylea, Keen-Eyed at the helm. I didn't really know what I wanted, so I took that deck apart and used it to fuel the Green Goodness in some of my subsequent decks.

You're welcome. If trample is your jam, there's always Battle Mammoth. Also, Siege Behemoth is an insane card to get damage through. In case you're interested in more stompy-ideas, Her Royal Fluffness always appreciates more views.
