Hi Everyone,

So the idea a to combine the effects of Waste Not and Warped Devotion. Liliana's Caress is in the deck to combine damage with the discard effects.

Blackmail and Despise are the 1 mana discard spells, whereas Compelling Deterrence and Unsubstantiate can help remove threats and work nicely when Warped Devotion is in play.

I have chosen Black Cat and Abyssal Nocturnus again for the discard effects

This deck is for modern and is on a budget :( . I haven't played in a while so I am sure that this can be improved, any suggestions are welcome.

Welcome, you might want to have a look at some 8-rack lists, your deck is different but of a similar style. Some specific thoughts -

  1. Replace Compelling Deterrence with Vapor Snag.

  2. Replace Despise with Duress.

  3. Forced Fruition is too slow and your not running enough discard to make it worthwhile, Killing Wave could be a handy sweeper.

  4. Warped Devotion only really triggers on Compelling Deterrence (most of the time Unsubstantiate is a counterspell) and it costs 3 Brain Pry could be discard or draw.

  5. Mind Slash is again too slow, I'd suggest Inquisition of Kozilek but Raven's Crime combos nicely with Dakmor Salvage.

  6. Abyssal Nocturnus might be better replaced with Nyxathid or Inverter of Truth.

  7. Extirpate, Quest for the Nihil Stone, Augur of Skulls and Dream Salvage are cards worth considering, you will need Ghost Quarter in your sideboard atleast.
