For Vincent. Created adhering to Modern Constructed rules, for a casual beginner. Trying for an Eldritch Horror theme.

This deck is part control, part ramp. The main objective is to survive until you can get out your big nasty eldritch horrors and start stomping on the enemy with them. In order to do that you can force them to discard cards from their hand with Blackmail, and Despise which have synergism with creatures like Abyssal Nocturnus. Enchanting the opponents non-island lands with Spreading Seas can take away their ability to cast creatures and really helps ruin their early game (note to self: consider adding Oblivion Sower and/or Sire of Stagnation?). For threats that actually enter play there is Doom Blade, and one Pongify for emergencies. The only ramp comes from Eldrazi Skyspawner.

I am strongly considering Remand as a four-of.

This deck really wants black mana on turn one and would benefit from fast lands/shocks/fetches (but that would kind of ruin the whole point of this casual deck).

I guess if I had to name this deck it would be "Eldritch Lockdown", or something like that.

BUDGET UPGRADE

Replace all creatures that don't provide intrinsic value or lacking protection of some kind from removal.
