This deck seeks to build up a gigantic token army with Nest of Scarabs and/or Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons triggers. The deathtouch snake tokens are the perfect deterrent or good to sneak in some damage on an opponent hesitant to block. This becomes even more effective with Yahenni, Undying Partisan getting larger and larger when your opponent loses creatures. It's easy to keep Yahenni alive when you have plenty of tokens to feed her.

Nearly everything in the deck has incredible synergy with the -1/-1 counters. Don't forget to put the counters on Channeler Initiate for mana ramp/fixing, but also she can become a larger threat later in the game when you don't need the mana.

You can easily cut Bontu the Glorified, Rhonas the Indomitable, and The Scorpion God . They are big threats that are easy to activate, but they usually just win more, rather than central to our plan. Bontu's ability to sac a scarab token, scry, and swing the life totals can be pretty useful though.

For the sideboard, my main concern was enchantment hate, but I wanted something that could double up as artifact hate. If you feel you need some more lifelink, you can bring in Baleful Ammit , but I'm not really sure that's the best gameplan for aggressive decks. I haven't found friends to test against, so those are just a guess taking up sideboard slots. Stinging Shot is amazing if they have fliers. Plus, we have another couple of Fatal Push which may be the better solution for aggressive decks.

The one thing I really like about this framework is that you can convert it into a pretty fun Modern deck with a few changes. Add 4x Black Sun's Zenith and the deck goes absolutely nuts. Cast BSZ for 4 CMC with 2 scarab tokens on board. Even if there are no other creatures on the board, you will be bringing back 4 tokens as long as you have Nest of Scarabs out. But if there are any other creatures things can get out of hand quickly. Add 4x Necroskitter for fun and profit.

Modern gives you access to so many different options. Wither/Infect are amazing. Persist is amazing. Have fun and experiment.

I'd be curious to get feedback on how to shore up the deck for either Standard or Modern.
