1v1 Orientated —March 17, 2014
I've gotta stop kidding myself that Shirei will ever be a viable multiplayer deck. People really don't like discarding and losing all their creatures. I shall try to make it 1v1, which includes some cuts:
- Bloodghast. Replacing Sol Ring. Although not recurable with Shirei, it can be handy to have some self recurable crearures early game to sac.
- Nether Traitor. Replacing Altar's Reap. Same reason as Bloodghast.
- Steel Hellkite. Replacing Pentavus. Was too expensive to cast. The hellkite gives me that much needed removal.
- Fallen Ideal. Replacing Decree of Pain. Way too expensive 1v1, dunno if i'll ever get a Damnation.
- Infernal Darkness. Replacing Champion's Helm. Another Contamination effect, and I dunno if i need as much protection 1v1.
- Mind Sludge. Replacing Diabolic Revelation. Discard is much better.
- Strands of Night. Replacing Increasing Ambition. Not sure about this one, but can be handy recursion.
- Skullclamp. Replacing Dread Return. Won't be recured with skullclamp, but the card draw is more than worth it. And if it's tokens, who cares?
- Ravenous Rats. Replacing Exsanguinate. Handy discard engine, like Ashen-Skin Zubera, but not as good.
- Everglades. Replacing Strip Mine.
- Augur of Skulls. Replacing Butcher of Malakir. It was too expensive, and Augur is good with 1 target.
- Phyrexian Reclamation. Replacing Bottle Gnomes. Not enough of an impact.
- Imp's Mischief. Replacing It That Betrays. Is way too expensive 1v1.
- Crystal Chimes. Replacing Hell's Caretaker. Not sure about this one.
- Skirsdag High Priest. Replacing Nim Deathmantle.
