Combo deck. Objective is to get Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind into the graveyard while having Goryo's Vengeance and Curiosity in hand. Play Goryo's targeting Niv-Mizzet, attach curiosity to Niv-Mizzet, tap the firemind and win the game.

The deck uses Cathartic Reunion and Faithless Looting to get pieces into play while defending with non-creature spells like Terminate and using the big body of Tasigur, the Golden Fang.

Ideally, the combo goes off on turn 3. However, this often won't be the case. By turn 4, usually 2/3 combo pieces are in place with that final nugget lost somewhere in your library. Mastermind's Acquisition is the last ditch effort to get your combo ready by turn 5.

The deck has clear weaknesses to graveyard and hand hate and can easily fall apart to cards like Relic of Progenitus or Rest in Peace. Sideboard is being built to shore up these weaknesses. Sphinx's Tutelage is added as an alternate win condition in case the combo is completely shut down. Pact of Negation is the ultimate trump card meant to save your combo if your opponent tries to stop it on your winning turn. Spell Pierce and Mana Leak are going to be tested to see how effective they deal with graveyard hate enchantments and artifacts. Spell Snare is a cost effective way to also counter some potentially devastating cards. Finally, Lost Legacy is a solid method to completely removing a troublesome card or two from the game, though that won't stop those cards making it onto the battlefield before you can cast it.
