The Idol Format:This is the world's first Idol deck (I created this style of play a while ago and have played with friends but decided it was time to actually put it on tappedout)
THE FORMATYou create the deck similar to that of EDH but the variations are as follows:
-Your "commander" is a single rare noncreature artifact or enchantment card with a certain color identity. You may play with any colored cards in your deck but are allowed only 9 cards that are not in your Idol's color identity. (hybrid mana is not considered towards your 9 extra mana colored cards and lands do not count towards this either. Sideboarded cards do not count towards this count either)
-Upon being destroyed, your Idol goes back to the commander zone and may be re-cast but increasing it's casting cost by 1 (that is 1 colorless mana) for each time it has entered the commander zone from play.
-There are only allowed 2 other rares in your entire deck and 6 uncommons (sideboarded cards add to this count)
-Only 3 of each card is allowed at any time in the deck (basic lands are unaffected)
-You play like a normal standard or draft game with 7 cards drawn and 20 life. Mulligan are allowed (but only 2 mulligans per game) and both extra mulligans give you a hand of 6
-Upon destroying your opponent's "idol" your opponent takes 2 points of damage directly that cannot be negated or redirected
-Lowest rarity of a card printed is the rarity it counts towards (example would be Chromatic Star is an uncommon from tenth, but a common from time spiral so it counts as a common)
-Only up to 11 total creatures are allowed in your deck at any time (tip: play token giving cards if you want a creature based deck)
