Finally! The Frog gets just the card it deserves! Ramunap Excavator generates insane amounts of synergy to The Gitrog Monster, I couldn't help but do a bit of a build-around.
Ok, let's talk combos. This deck's lands are super important to finishing the match, and the best of all the lands is Evolving Wilds. This land can activate lots of powerful triggers, as well as getting us the right lands at the right time. To add on to it, one of the best parts of this deck is the interaction between Evolving Wilds + Ramunap Excavator
: Hello infinity! You will always be able to play evolving wilds for constant land every turn(Sometimes more than once!). This ability can trigger some awesome abilities such from The Gitrog Monster, Tireless Tracker, Aid from the Cowl,
Crawling Sensation
, and sometimes even Omnath, Locus of Rage!
So now you know why this deck is worth playing, so the only question left: how to play. Ramp should always be top priority, starting with Channeler Initiate. If possible to play this on turn 2, do it! It helps you fix your mana, while getting you to your bombs, while building up to a huge body, that's INSANE VALUE!! If you need some additional ramp, you can use
Hour of Promise
, but this is usually for the etb triggers, and zombie bodies. Ramp can eventually just win you the game with Omnath, Locus of Rage. Card draw is an important aspects in almost every deck, so this deck's gotta have some! Cathartic Reunion was my choice of filtering, because it doubles as digging through your library, and getting lands into the graveyard (Which can sometimes be important).
One last thing, make sure you keep track of where your deserts are, it's pretty important to
Ramunap Hydra
. You don't want to go full aggro with this build- it's best to just gum up the board until you can afford Omnath, Locus of Rage.
Seems like I've covered everything, thanks for viewing, and comment any questions or suggestions you have.
