+100 UPVOTES —Oct. 11, 2016

I've finally achieved +100 upvotes on this deck!

I'm so happy that you have all found this deck to be interesting, and hopefully inspiring. I would like to thank everyone who's helped improve this deck over time - it never would have achieved its current form without so much vital input from the community.

And as always, happy deckbuilding to you all!

Assuming you don't want to swap out a basic land:This is dependant on your meta, but how much does Tower of the Magistrate do for you? It seems like it would be almost more trouble than it's worth, unequipping your general all the time?

MagmaArmor0: Oh, Tower of the Magistrate isn't there for Avacyn. It's there to wreck the opposing voltron generals in my meta :D

Stonehewer Giant seems like he should be in here, due to your reliance on equipment. Him sticking will lead to you grabbing any and all equipment you need to end the game pretty easily. You could probably remove one of your worse equipment for him (I'm not a terribly huge fan of Scythe of the Wretched, for example, because it doesn't synchronize well with the Voltron plan (getting 21 Commander damage), and it is really obvious when you pay 4 and attach it to something else. Not a fan of that bloated equip cost, either). Obviously, you could remove something else, as well, but being able to spend 1W to get and attach Feast and Famine, Argentum Armor, or Sunforger seems pretty big since since he tutors, puts into play, and equips, allowing you to devote to the Voltron plan even easier if you need to do so during a game.

You might look into Aura of Silence over some part of the removal package as well. The additional tax makes it difficult for a lot of other Voltron decks to play through this card, oftentimes forcing them to a crawl until they can do something about it (which usually results in sacrificing it to destroy something of theirs).

That's all I've got though. Well built Boros deck sir.

PookandPie: Both very good sze Card: OverblazeTCG $0.24 | MTGO 0.01 TIX.

uggestions! :) I've SHG before, and I've had issues because 1) he rarely sticks and 2) he doesn't do anything until T7 at the best (T5 commander, T6 SHG, T7 tutor). I'll reconsider, though, especially since I've recently added Argentum Armor.

Aura of Silence might go in over Overblaze.

Nice deck +1. Read the comments and didn't see anithing to suggest. You already have them on board. Could you review my Aurelia Boros Voltron? Thanks

Hi Daedalus19876,

I just saw your deck and prompty remembered the spoilers. I thought that your unusal Voltron deck might benefit from this new card:

Sigarda's Aid

Playing equipment on instant speed is pretty lame and insane (for your opponents) xD You got my upvote for this :)

PartyJ: I know, I've been drooling over that card since I saw it in the spoilers, haha. It's the second-most-exciting card to me (after Splendid Reclamation, which will be ABSOLUTELY NUTS in my Sidisi deck). I'm also planning to add Selfless Spirit (fits the self-sacrificing aspect of the deck to flip Avacyn, and can save my board from her Inquisition). Do you think there are any equipment worth adding here from that set?

Thanks for the comment/+1! You'll be seeing me again shortly, for a comment on your Nath deck for the "Advertise your deck" thread, heh.

I am pretty dissapointed with the equipment that has been spoiled. But we can't blame WOTC for this, since they released this white beaty for any equipment deck. I expect some nice new equipment in the near future and meanwhile we will have fun playing with the equipment aid xD

Awesome deck +1. (+2 if I could). Would you review and upvote my Aurelia Boros Voltron?

Love, love, LOVE This deck. The design and flavor is phenomenal. +1 from me. Now bow, and face judgment.

aekrusty: Sure, I'll give it a look when I can find time! :)

The_Herald_of_Atarka: bows Well thank you, sir/ma'am! It's one of my favorite decks: it curves smoothly, and it's proven itself to be my most competitive deck (excluding my combo decks when not disrupted).

I'm also planning to add Selfless Spirit and Sigarda's Aid as soon as I can get copies; they seem awesome here.

Probably the sweetest deck I've ever seen. Great job!

Do you think you have enough artifacts to justify Dispatch? I also suggest Stonehewer Giant and maybe Umezawa's Jitte. This is definitely a strong list though, although I don't like Generator Servant or Torch Fiend. I know they are there to help flip avacyn, but I dunno, maybe fiend is ok but servant just doesn't sit right with me.

Tacticsninja16782: I've considered Stonehewer Giant before, and he's been sitting on the edge of the deck forever. I know how good he is - grabbing protection or combat effects at instant speed - but I have two issues with him. First, he sits at the same CMC as my commander, and I usually want to cast her ASAP (especially since she costs a lot for a voltron general). Second, he only has an effect after waiting a turn cycle - so even in a good scenario where nobody has removal, I don't get to use his effect until T7 (T5 commander, T6 cast him, T7 use him). Have you had good experiences with him?

I play in a very artifact-heavy meta, so I'm never unhappy to draw Torch Fiend. Generator Servant was originally included as a self-sacrificing creature, but the ability to have a T3 commander with haste is nothing to scoff at.

I would put in Jitte if I had a copy, haha. But it's super expensive, so I can't add it yet. I've assembled this deck over a long time, and it's a piece I haven't acquired yet.

I'm not sure if I have enough artifacts to reliably play Dispatch. I'll test and find out. Thanks for your comment and +1! :)

Have you thought about running the Land Tax + Scroll Rack combo? Works wonders in colors that normally have bad card draw.

Aurelia, the Warleader seems like a natural inclusion here too. An extra combat phase means an extra Sword trigger and more commander damage

Cool deck! New Avacyn seems like an interesting build-around General. +1

Daedalus19876 says... #18

Ocelot44: I have considered it, yeah: doubly good since I'm already playing Enlightened Tutor. Unfortunately, I don't own a copy of either of them (and they're expensive), so it's not something I can add at the moment :(

September 12, 2016 7:15 p.m.

Ocelot44 says... #19

Lol yeah I know the feel. At least you're smart enough to know there are better budget options than running freaking Armistice for card draw. I cringed so hard when I saw Justin Parnell play it in Commander Vs last week XD

September 12, 2016 7:21 p.m.

Daedalus19876 says... #20

Ocelot44: Yeah, Armistice is just BAD. Anyone who plays it should be ashamed. I mean, look at the colorless draw available! Mind's Eye blows them all out of the water.

Also, I'm planning on adding Aurelia, the Warleader in my next update to the deck: my currently planned changes are +1 Stonehewer Giant, Sublime Archangel, Mana Vault, Sword of Fire and Ice, Rogue's Passage, and Aurelia, the Warleader, along with -1 Tower of the Magistrate, Mana Geyser, Daretti, Scrap Savant, Scythe of the Wretched, Demonmail Hauberk, and Blood Moon. Thoughts?

Also, do you mind clicking the +1 button again? I don't think the website registered it (stupid glitchy T/O). Thanks again! :)

Ocelot44 says... #21

Oh my gosh that wasn't a glitch that was me forgetting to press it. Oops

Anyways yeah those all sound like great upgrades! Personally, I've had a bad history with Mana Vault. It's tricky to use because you can only untap it during your upkeep, but it can pay off in certain situations

September 12, 2016 7:38 p.m.

Awesome deck. I like it the way it is, no suggestion I feel is needed for it. +1 upvote.

have you thought about Lightning Greaves

September 14, 2016 3:17 a.m.

Daedalus19876 says... #24

tyler18432: I have considered it, yes. The issue is that once the Lightning Greaves are attached to Avacyn, the Purifier  Flip, I can no longer equip (or enchant) anything else to her. I can get around this by having another creature to move the Greaves to, but if I control no other creatures, there's going to be a problem (and, in testing, that happened frequently enough for me to not want to play it).
