Love-in-Theory Deckling

Self-Proclaimed "King of Misplays"

Been playing Magic: The Gathering for about 5 years now.

Started off playing Standard, then realized that constantly purchasing new cards to stay in the format was far more effort than I was willing to put out. Rotated into Modern for a while, then started playing EDH just recently.

I'm not very well versed in card knowledge, so I'm always eager to find out about new things. Very open to suggestions. Knowledge is power.

I really like Sram's Expertise in my Jor Kadeen deck, the tokens are nice, but the free sword is the best part.

squirlfood-

Thanks! I'm new to playing (just now switched to the dark side) and I dont like playing counter magic very much. So far I'm having fun with this deck, and look forward to making improvements

Have you considered Pact of Negation?

Aside from being a last resort, 0-cmc counterspell, if it's paired with Hive Mind you can kill all non-blue players..for no mana at all

Skaab Ruinator is only 3 Cmc 5/6 that can fly.

Undead Alchemist maybe?

Cellar Door kinda sucks, but hey zombies!

Zombie tribal has always been one of my favorite tribal decks to play. If I come up with any more suggestions, I'll send them your way!

I think Wonder would be a great and easy way to give your zombies flying. You could always use Levitation instead.

I'm sure you considered Grave Titan?

Rite of Replication + Grave Titan can get real nasty.

Call to the Grave can keep the board pretty clear of non zombies, though it'll draw hate for sure.

Then again, doing good in a game of magic will draw hard regardless.

Oh, and Army of the Damned because damn it feels good to put a boat load of zombies onto the field.

I'll take a look at both of those creatures. Scourge would be great at clearing creatures out, and Gorger would thin the deck nicely.

Thanks for the suggestions!

It's a Love/Hate relationship with Forced Fruition. A buddy of mine has one in a Nekusar deck (which would be better in that deck than this) and has lost multiple games because of it.

It's good, but usually backfires more than half the time. I think Psychosis Crawler would fill the slot better, what do you think?

Rzepkanut- I can't believe I forgot Psychosis Crawler!

Iron Maiden will go in here, along with Sturmgeist.

Thanks for the suggestions!

TheWrongBunny- Thank you! This decklist is still in its (very) early stages, but so far I feel like it's sticking to it's theme nicely.

I imagine you could make a pretty mean TL deck with him. Gotta love the extra cards

Love Nekusar! He's a lot of fun to play.

Fate Unraveler

Spiteful Visions would be great here.

Teferi's Puzzle Box is an Auto-include .

I'd add more wheels like

Windfall

Dark Deal

Winds of Change

Wheel of Fortune

If you decide to go a more wheel route, I personally like Hive Mind. There's potential to kill everyone with just one wheel. Windfall x4? GG
