squirrel squirrel squirrel. why? cause we can. i've tried making a squirrel deck work for a while as monogreen, and while it works quite well, i freaking despise anything with 'protection from green', which singlehandely can crush my games :( so i decided to add a color, and while blue would have given great control, i went for white, mostly due to
Intangible Virtue
. the idea is that is allows my measly 1/1 creatures to survive a bit more( i'm looking at you Goblin Sharpshooter, while hitting a bit harder.
the deck itself synergizes in following ways:
first, we have:
Essence Warden that just gives tons of lifes due to army of squirrels.
Squirrel Nest + Arbor Elf, moar squirrels.
Squirrel Nest + Earthcraft infinite squirrels.
Skyshroud Poacher
+ Deranged Hermit] basically get tons of squirrels. don't really have to pay echo ( depends on situation).
Earthcraft+ Deranged Hermit] basically makes it free to cast, if you have 5 initial mana.
the rest is basically beatdown, squirrels, protection and disrupt.
Wall of Blossoms and Wall of Omens gives me some protection from beatdown decks, while letting me draw as well. also defends well vs the Beast Within token.
Sundering Growth
for disrupt, and populating. not bad.
Swords to Plowshares for disrupt, as well as dealing vs shitty protection !!%!%.
for my sideboard, i tried to pick a big range of different disrupt/protection utility cards. Steely Resolve vs burn deck vs, or Spidersilk Armor if i run into a team focusing heavily on flying. Wrath of God is generally just good, and with Squirrel Nest i got a advantage when it comes to repopulating the wiped creature board.
comments and feedback are welcome, specially with regards to potential white cards to put it, which is rather low at the moment. Soul Warden is a choice, but Essence Warden does the same, and is a elf on top of that, so my
Skyshroud Poacher
can get her if i'm dropping low.
