if you find your creatures getting killed, cards like Vines of Vastwood and Ranger's Guile could be useful

My friend used to play something like this. he had 4 inkmoth nexuses as well, since they are harder to answer and they have flying for more evasion. but definitely vines of vastwood is useful. He ran something of the sort and it always came in handy when people tried to kill his pumped creature, not to mention it can be a pump itself.

Hey, great deck! Mutagenic Growth seems a bit weak though. Maybe you can replace it with Fog so that you'll have an enemy battlefield of tapped creatures, or mostly tapped creatures, to bypass and hit the player with? I think it would be good to have this if you don't have apostle's blessing. Very nice deck though, +1

Cool deck, not sure where I've seen it before....cough haha.

Few recommendations having played this a lot:

Necropede is better than Blight Mamba - you will never have the mana open to regenerate it. If they try to burn your creature with Lightning Bolt you can sacrifice a pump spell to save it, and if they try to destroy it you can normally hexproof or protection, but regenerate just never really happens (a good player will use removal after you've buffed your creature already, meaning you've used your mana).

The Rancor s in your maybeboard will out perform Unnatural Predation easily, but I would only recommend 2-3, as having an entire playset can make it less efficient (drawing 2-3 will just make them a +2/+0 pump after the first, which is a lot worse than other buffs you can be using).

Primal Bellow isn't very optimal because you will normally operate on only 2 lands. You'd have to reach 4 lands to be on the same level as Might of Old Krosa or Groundswell . That being said, you also only really need 18-19 lands to be in a good spot (the average CMC is what...like 1.29 or something?)

For similar reasons, Gather Courage isn't the greatest because you probably won't have more than one creature on the field. Most of the time you'll end up paying the one G, which again is less optimal than getting +3/+3 or +4/+4 from other sources. A lot of the time the extra +1/+1 or +2/+2 will mean the difference between a win or a loss.

I know it's a budget deck, as mine started, but I would add Might of Old Krosa and Vines of Vastwood ASAP, starting with Vines of Vastwood because Apostle's Blessing alone will not be enough protection.

Have fun! It's a silly deck to play, lots of good times. The epitome of "oops, I won" or "oops, I lost"

@de4thbyc4ke - not to take over prihodaj's thread, but I can provide a few suggestions:

Wild Defiance - this works really well against any burn decks. As soon as they target your creature with a Lightning Bolt or any 3-damage burn spell it instantly puts them out of danger (buffs to 4/4 before the bolt resolves).

Pithing Needle - this is great to ruin decks reliant on certain pieces (ie/ Cranial Plating , Karn Liberated , etc.) Another great target if they don't have specific combo pieces is if they sideboard (or even mainboard sometimes) a Spellskite , as Spellskite will absolutely ruin your day.

Dismember - considering the deck operates so fast, you don't really care about your own life total. even against fast burn decks or aggro ones such as Goblins I've never really dropped too low before they're dead. Because of this, you can spend the 4 life to get rid of things in your way. This especially includes Melira, Sylvok Outcast , as I have Dismember in my sideboard purely for her.

Nature's Claim - instant speed removal for both enchantment and artifact hate, with a clause that you don't care about at all (+4 life), unless you find yourself facing Melira, Sylvok Outcast and have to start targetting their life total.

Finally, I also like to use Savage Summoning against control, and against other decks it also provides a way to sneak in creatures at the end of your opponents turn. If they swing in/tap down everything turn 2 because you don't have a creature, flashing in an infect creature with an extra +1/+1 could easily result in a turn 3 win if you have enough pumps in hand to get +8/+8 (which in some cases is as easy as a combination of Groundswell or Might of Old Krosa .

If you would like to take a look at my own deck, it is This is Modern...You Don't Need Friends (FNM 1st), again, not to take away from prihodaj's deck. Mine is similar and is still very budget, just with ~$20 more invested to make it really competitive.

Good luck!

Thank you for suggestion ;) but my devotion to green during the game is usually 1 or 2, it means that this card is useless for this deck

Awesome deck I played a version of this before the black one I'm running at the moment and was really funny the look on your opponents face when you win turn 2 ! :) +1 from me.

I really like this deck. I want to go to a two headed giant style game and bring my Staff of Infinite Devotion with something like this - groundswell etcetc. I was actually talking about that before in the comments too haha!

Already gave it a +1 earlier today, just got around to commenting now. Looks like a lot of fun - MEAN fun. Just the way I like it ;)

thx, guys!!!

February 9, 2014 5:16 p.m.

A few cards I could suggest here is; Plague Myr , Inkmoth Nexus , Death's Shadow and Soul Conduit together with Phyrexian Unlife in a stalled match.

Mac97 says... #25

I run 4 Rancor s in my trample infect also Predator's Strike is great for this. I also run Pendelhaven which those great for those 1/1 infectors and it doesn't enter the battlefield tapped. The Phyrexian Theory Of Evolution is my infect. which just a little bit more expensive than yours.
