Probably going to order the deck within the next few days. Would love any last minute feedback and or ratings (from one to ten or whatever), thanks so much to everyone who helped with the deck so far, you've been very helpful.

U(x)(x) control is healthy in the modern metagame but this version is a little odd witj some suboptimal card choices.

I suggest MTG salvation to start looking for ideas.

Thanks, I'm really trying to focus on using filibuster to win though.

At the very least change your card choices to defend the elocuters better as well as packing a backup win condition.

Any suggestions? I'm looking, but I also don't want to spend too much more than the estimated cost is already at.

The problem with budget lists in general stems from the corners you cut trying to make to the deck more affordable. To be very competative you really would need Snapcaster Mage , Cryptic Command , Vendilion Clique etc. For now I think getting rid of Azorius Herald and Judge's Familiar for Squadron Hawk . The hawk provides card advantage and deck thinning while providing blockers and an aggresive position to attack other players and planeswalkers.

I've added Squadron Hawk and, from a friend's suggestion, added two Path to Exile . Any other feedback would be greatly appreciated.

You should go 4 hawks

Four feels like too many. I don't what I would take out for it either.

Not playing four hawks is a mistake, they really are that good.

I dropped a Sphere of Safety , wise choice?

April 6, 2013 9:16 p.m.

Sphere of saftey isn't a very good card for modern. You are punished in a control deck by playing such a card due to its CMC. Its a lot of mana for a very weak answer against aggro decks. The high CMC also means you can't hold up mana for counters or removal spells. I would cut it all together but for now its a suitable thing to get rid of.

I'm a big fan of the sphere and Enchanted Evening combo

Its not a viable one however. It doesn't lock the opponent out completely and is really only good against aggro decks which arent even played too much in modern. It takes lots of precious tempo for something that isnt worthwhile.

What plan of action would you suggest then?

Isochron Scepter lockdown is the way to go son. Is there a modern legal Orim's Chant ? Because that would do it.Although I'm personally a fan of pillowforting I feel that if you want to fillibuster to win you should speed along the process with proliferate or Clockspinning - works well with Isochron Scepter - or something of the like. Paradox Haze is a very good choice, if you can find some more synergy with that you can turn this deck gold.

Still for modern get your advice mostly from peeps that know the metagame. Squadron hawk is a great card and does a lot of work vs a lot of different kinds of decks. I'm not sure what is out in modern yet as I have yet to make and compete with my own modern deck.

Thank you so much, this has definitely given me more to think about. I've got a lot going on today, but I will definitely have some changes to this made by tonight.

-2 Rewind

-2 Vapor Snag

-2 Sphere of Safety

-3 Mana Leak

-2 Island

-2 Plains

+4 Celestial Colonnade

+4 Rune Snag

+3 Snapcaster Mage

+2 Vendilion Clique

Rune Snag handles the late game much better than Mana Leak could ever dream to, and Rewind seems a little weaker in modern. Creature hate mainboard isn't the best idea in modern.

April 7, 2013 12:31 p.m.

Just to throw some stuff out there Intervention Pact , Reality Acid , Fatespinner , Epochrasite , Angel's Grace (for sideboard), Silence , Grand Abolisher , Aven Mindcensor , Aura of Silence . Just some ideas.

I've made some more modifications, please let me know what you guys think. Thanks again for all the help!

Looks good, but I highly recommend the fetchlands. A playset just tossed in for either of your colors (or 2 for each) really a deck out.

April 7, 2013 9:46 p.m.

Bubmeister says... #23

Also, a playset of Rune Snag if you're gonna run it. otherwise it doesn't get the chance to be better than Mana Leak

April 7, 2013 9:49 p.m.

DrGibbs says... #24

Any suggestions of what to remove for the two more Rune Snag ?

I'd say Enchanted Evening , how well do those play for you?
