Scourge of Nel Toth is not legal in modern.

This deck is way to inconstant and has to many 2 of of cards that arent even good and cost way to much mana. Any 15 dollar budget modern deck could win against this consistently. My suggestions are to remove every card in this deck except Death Baron which you should make him a 3 of, then add 4 copies of Gravecrawler 4 copies of Geralf's Messenger, 4 Relentless Dead when it comes out, 4 copies of Diregraf Colossus, and 4 copies of Butcher Ghoul. then add 4 copies of either Go for the Throat, or Doomblade, and 4 copies of Dismember then birng your land count down to about 20 as zombbies is an aggro deck and doesnt need as many lands, and finally if you can afford them add 4 copies of Thoughtseize or Inquisition of Kozilek.

@shadowsike this is a deck compiled from the cards that i have as of right now. as for being inconsistant, i would have to disagree based on the numerous times i've used it against other decks in person. the only problem is that it is really weak against flying.

@Eratisoul yes i know, and im looking for a replacement flyer. (limiting myself to only zombies to i realize that this poses a problem)

I dont know what decks for testing this against but you cant even cast a single card in this deck until turn 3. By then decks such as infect, b/w tokens, jund, tron, eldrazi, and pretty much any competent tier 1-3 deck even budget versions will have already have set up their board to win, or have won already.

Modern is a fast format, if your deck cant win by turn 4-7 unless your a control deck which this is not your deck is to slow.

I think you should adjust the mana curve to include more 1 and 2 drops

Also consider removing some of the more expensive cards for hand distruption/draw cards such as Sign in Blood, Duress, and especially Gempalm Polluter. Also, you should add in some removal other than Call to the Grave. I think that Liliana, Defiant Necromancer is a better choice of planeswalker also. I run Go for the Throat and Tragic Slip in my zombie deck, and its super key to winning games against other tribal decks.

@mordwand oh i'm liking the Gempalm Polluter. Get a zombie into the graveyard, draw a card, and sip away at your opponent's life total, all for just BB? sounds great. i would love to add Liliana, Defiant Necromancer  Flip however Liliana, Heretical Healer  Flip isn't a zombie... and it would mess with the "all zombie" deck. balls to my OCD on that one... i've been trying to add in Tragic Slip and Go for the Throat for a while now, i just can't figure out what i want to take out for them.

You might want to use 2 Endless Ranks of the Dead, just in case your opponent has enchantment destroying spells. I'd also recommend Withered Wretch to add to your sideboard, it's a 2/2 zombie for BB, so nothing special, however it can stop the reanimator decks, and decks, which use Whip of Erebos. To be honest, i don't really understand, why Liliana of the Dark Realms is in your deck. She provides you lots of lands and mana, however you don't need that much of them. So let's add some of these to your sideboard, because these spells can benefit from Lili's -6. Profane Command, Suffer the Past, Consume Spirit.I hope i could help.

(From the 'advertise your modern deck thread)

I don't think you need Sidisi, Undead Vizier. It is too slow and sets you back a creature to get the full effect, and the only creature that can be used most effectively is Gravecrawler. If you want two bombs in the deck, just replace this with another Mikaeus. Otherwise, it's good. +1

@The_Redpill i'd have to say that i absolutely disagree. having played this deck, Sidisi, Undead Vizier is one of the mainstays. getting out an Undead Warchief means that I can cast it next turn, and if there are no other creatures i would sac, i can always just sac it to itself, in essence just using it as a tutor to get what i need. also, if Mikaeus, the Unhallowed is already on the field, i can combo them, sac-ing Sidisi, Undead Vizier first, and then say the Undead Warchief giving then both the undying triggers, putting "free" +1/+1 counters on my zombies, and getting any two cards i want.

You definitely want to mainboard Gray Merchant of Asphodel. The card is awesome, and you've got quite a bit of black devotion among your zombies. It'll probably drain about 6 or 7 on average. By turn 5 they've probably already taken a bit of damage, so just resolving 2 gray merchants will seal the game. I think you should take out 1 of Cemetery Reaper, and the Call to the Grave, Grave Betrayal, and Zombie Apocalypse. Cemetery reaper is your weakest lord and you have way too many cards at 3 mana. Call to the grave and endless ranks of the dead require too many turns before the mana investment is worth it. In modern, you'd be dead by that point (my elf deck would've eaten you alive by turn 6). Grave betrayal relies on your opponent's deck having creatures, which isn't always true. Plus, it's 7 mana in a 4 turn format. However, all of those cards are worthy of a sideboard slot.

@Lanzo493 thats true, i was also thinking about taking out two of the Undead Warchiefs and adding some better mana use cards. i like the combo of Call to the Grave + Grave Betrayal but yeah it is way too much mana, even with Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. Thanks!

you could splash red for Tymaret, the Murder King as a good sac outlet.

This looks like alot of fun only thought is maybe Obelisk of Urd as a 1 of and of course Liliana of the Veil couldn't hurt

Strong cards, good synergy too, but from the test plays that I've done, I've found that it wouldn't hurt you to get a bit more mana. Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx is wonderful for this deck absolutely, perhaps you should add one more?

All in all, I really respect this build. It is fun after all
