Hi,

just saw your post about Captain Sisay.

To give you some good advise, it is important to know what you would like to achieve with your deck; laidback casual to very competitive.

Besides this, you also have many different possibilities with this Captain. What kind of game do you wish to play with her?

Check my profile to see my Captain Sisay deck for a good reference of a competitive option.

Best regards,PJ

I think you will get the best value out of playing things like Reanimate, or play politics. politics is fun, its messing with the mental side of magic players. like have enchantment removal, but get the player you are targeting to do something for you so that you won't destroy whatever they have.

Profet93, thanks for your help! Only 2 problems. 1, I don't want this deck to be too much more expensive than it already is, 2, there are cards that I want to keep that you suggested to keep out. eight and a half tails, for one served as my tutor able protection, and has saved my commander multiple times. Question: one of the reasons I had Mageta the Lion was because it was an instant win after the wipe and using Shaman of Forgotten Ways's ability. Do you think it is worth it? third, selvala is the little amount of politics I can afford to play, given its a Temple Bell with benefits. I'm on the fence with myojin, though. there are games I've had that have had a nesukar deck that let me draw up to a 10 card hand, then I played myojin and vomited the entire thing onto the battlefield. its really good in certain situations, I just don't know if its worth it.

also, in terms of budget, replace Breeding Pool with Botanical Sanctum.

I just need something to act as a replacement for Gaea's Cradle in my sisay deck until I have enough money to actually buy it. Any suggestions?

I know that this is budget, but Mesmeric Orb would be IMMENSELY helpful here.

maybe try Selvala, Heart of the Wilds. its fun, and can be made competitive if you so choose.

GreenFuzzyNinja, you have to polymorph one of your own creatures, whether it is a Cloudform or Blinkmoth Nexus

mono-blue Polymorph is always fun. I have a primer on one if you want to check it out: Metamorphosis [[PRIMER]]

Captain sisay is a good all-around option. aggro is really general. you could go for the 40-life, voltron, equips, infect, etc. it really depends what colors you like. you can really do any color combo and make ago out of it. you could even do like a mono-blue merfolk tribal deck. If you're going voltron, I suggest Eight-and-a-Half-Tails. most playgroups don't appreciate infect, so just don't.

Bhaal666, I don't mean to split hairs, but germs are typically 0/0, so even with all the abilities, a germ would still die.

I've been thinking of playing tails, what would the approximate price be without foils?

whats your response to Sun Droplet or Leyline of Sanctity?

March 15, 2017 4:30 p.m.

I'm building a sisay deck, but can't figure out what creatures to cut, or how to make the toolbox better fit the meta. any help would be great! I am looking to make a deck that is semi-competitive. something that could hold its own at any given LGS, but isn't so oppressive that no one wants to play you.

This is a commander I am really excited about, and would like some help in refining the list of creatures in the toolbox.

lightning bolt, path to exile, swords to plowshares. In terms of cuts, I have no idea, since there is no legitimate strategy in this deck. I mean, the mana base is entirely useless at the moment.

well first off, don't mainboard leyline or choke. more often than not they will be dead cards. replace them with a few star fields and probably some Oblivion Rings and Banishing Lights

I would recommend taking the lantern package out and going with a few more enchantments. it would be more effective to win with something like Starfield of Nyx than with lantern. possibly Porphyry Nodes?
