Stampeding Elk Herd Discussion

Destructive Tampering is probably better than Blinding Flare, and neither card is very good. If you want to spend an uncommon slot on it, Gruul Charm is so much better.

Rugged Highlands is probably the best common tapland for your colors.

Your Noble plays well with token generators like Dragon Fodder and Krenko's Command. Scatter the Seeds might be worth considering as well.

Goblin Bushwhacker is insane with tokens, and most decks that run Reckless Bushwhacker should run both.

Your creatures are generally terrible. There's no other way I can put it. You're playing a bunch of 2/2's and 2/1's for 2 mana with slight upside, and 3/2's for 3 mana with the same. Kashi-Tribe Warriors stands out because it's a 5-mana 2/4. There are so many 5-drops that are better (ex. Stampeding Elk Herd). Alternatively, you could skip the 5-drops and just play more 1-drops and 2-drops (Wild Nacatl, Kird Ape, Burning-Tree Emissary stand out).

Life Goes On is a sideboard-only card that you bring in against burn decks. Never mainboard it because it's generally bad.

You describe Massive Raid as a generally solid burn spell. Outnumber does the same thing for , except it can't go to your opponent's face. And if you want to talk about burn spells that actually deserve to be called "solid", Lightning Bolt is where you should be starting.

You're a green aggro deck in Noble, therefore Rancor is probably good in your deck.

I wonder if Stampede Driver would be good in this deck.

cards to remove for more land as per request:

Cobblebrute, Fire Elemental, Lightning Elemental, Hell's Thunder, these do nothing worthwhile.

Deadly Recluse, Kessig Cagebreakers, Stampeding Elk Herd, Splinterfright, Urban Burgeoning, Durable Handicraft, Incremental Growth, not necessarily bad just dont do much for landfall/elementals.

that should be more than enough room for land. personally id go with about 40 lands. remove things in first list before second list.

With only 20 lands and no card draw, I don't think Exploration is a very good fit in this deck; you're likely to only get 1 or 2 extra land drops with it and only if it's in your opening hand. I would replace it with an Elvish Mystic or something, which doesn't require extra lands in your hand to ramp and can contribute to Stampeding Elk Herd's Formidable.

I made a few card switches:

Volcanic Rambler out, Zendikar Resurgent in. I have never used the rambler's ability, and this will also help to smooth out the 6-drop bump in the mana curve.

Vandalize out, Structural Distortion in. Lower cost, exiles instead of destroy, and I just like Structural Distortion better. I won't be able to destroy two things, but I think the switch is still a net gain.

Akoum Firebird out, Obsidian Fireheart in. The firebird's landfall cost is high enough that I have never seen it as much of a playable ability. I like the inevitability that can be achieved with the fireheart's blaze counters. Also, this is an elemental replacing a non-elemental.

Atarka Monument out, Mountain in. I have actually run into the problem of running out of basic lands to pull from my library before. To combat this I have culled any non-basics I felt were unnecessary. This deck doesn't really need a mana rock anyway when that slot could give me a 5/5 token instead.

Rolling Thunder out, Comet Storm in. I get instant speed instead of sorcery, and comet storm can deal a total of more damage for less mana.

Other cards I might consider for replacement (but I'm not sure what to put in their place): Glade Watcher, Naturalize, Reclaim, Stampeding Elk Herd, Seismic Elemental.

Consider putting these in your deck; I used to be a U/G player and i have a few things you could add. Tromokratis was always a fun card to use, partly because if they have 1 tapped creature they would not be able to block Tromokratis, but Breaker of Armies does the same thing I think. Tromokratis is just a personal favorite. Stampeding Elk Herd Is good if you want some trample in the deck. Wall of Frost was another personal favorite of mine, 3 mana for a decent defender plus a good ability. Nemesis of Mortals I think this an overall good uncommon. It might just be my opinion talking, but I think this card is a solid card. Garruk's Packleader is always good for a deck with a lot of big creatures. Horizon Chimera has good synergy with Garruk's Packleader and just overall a good way to get your life up there before your opponent can do anything. Hope this helps you RupertPhd. I just like paying people back when they helped me.

I was thinking, you can get a similar effect with a card like Craterhoof Behemoth, which is also very common in elf ramp decks. That way, you can save a lot of money. An even cheaper version is Stampeding Elk Herd
