Hello friends,

(Disclaimer: My first post, so let me know if I need to make edits.)

Could anyone provide some feedback on my two decks? I’m getting back into this after 15 years. Yay. For now this is just for casual play. I don’t mind spending a few dollars, just not many dollars. Thanks for stopping by and for any and all help!

Afraid this deck won't work that well in reality, there are much better choices even on a budget.

  1. Deviod means that Eldrazi Skyspawner and Mist Intruder aren't blue, they are colourless.

  2. Skywatcher Adept will never be relevant and costs too much to level up, a better option is Cloudfin Raptor which grows just because you play other creatures.

  3. Faerie Miscreant is a functionally better Zephyr Sprite thanks to the occasional draw.

  4. Swap Mist Intruder to be Seacoast Drake, it has an extra 1 toughness and is blue.

  5. Eldrazi Skyspawner and Azure Drake should be Illusory Angel, Warden of Evos Isle, Stitched Drake or even Riptide Chimera as they are all more efficient.

  6. If you use Riptide Chimera then Reality Acid becomes hard removal for anything rather than Encrust if not then Void Snare or Vapor Snag are more efficient.

In short, while I like the idea of an all flying blue deck, your card choices just weren't optimal, even on a budget.

DemonDragonJ, Seacoast Drake gains your opponent more life when they play Tribute to Hunger. Hovermyr can't be pitched to Force of Will. Storm Crow is strictly better.

KingTorg1, both Seacoast Drake and Hovermyr are superior to Storm Crow, so I believe that it would be better to reprint either of those cards, instead.

Dude, Seacoast Drake is strictly better than Storm Crow. Get your game on.

I agree with stendika this deck is to slow and needs Serum Powder to stay consistent. And Storm Crow is optional since Seacoast Drake is strictly better :D.But you definitely need a playset. Besides when you really think about it that card is better then Jace, the Mind Sculptor.

Start simple, and slowly build up.

I don't like to use cards like Chaplain's Blessing or Vessel of Volatility that aren't good cards.

I go for mostly creatures, but I keep them to vanillas, french vanillas (evergreen keywords only, like Serra Angel), and virtual vanillas (they have some effect the turn you play them, but are vanillas after that, like Elvish Visionary).

I keep the number of different types of effects low, but have some repetition for each of them ("that Air Elemental has flying just like the Seacoast Drake that you played a few turns ago did").

But remember that by far the most important thing is that he/she has FUN. If your child isn't enjoying some aspect of the game ("I don't like it when you Doom Blade my Craw Wurm - Doom Blade my Runeclaw Bear instead"), try to remove that part of the game for awhile.
