I would assume you're wanting a discard theme?
Nebuchadnezzar gives you another discard ability
Lazav, the Multifarious, The Scarab God, Lazav, Dimir Mastermind, Zareth San, the Trickster all benefit from cards that are discarded.

as a mono-black player, or should I say planeswalker, I love this article. I've built a dozen or so decks around the concept of hand-control, starting with Nebuchadnezzar and eventually settling on Sen Triplets. I've devolved most decks into some other wincon or what could be considered "more viable mechanics" but discard will always have a special place in my mechanical logs since my very first days of EDH playing against Nekusar, the Mindrazer I need some new spicy EDH decks that give me more discard/hand control mechanics and feel-goods for doing so!

Subversion is probably a must for this deck. In a 4 man game, you gain 3 life, make everybody lose 1 life, and lower the cost of your creatures by 3 mana.
Neheb, the Eternal is also a great card. gets you a lot of red mana which can help you pay for your big stuff. Plus with his afflict ability you will always be dealing damage with him.
Then this deck can 100% run Smallpox and/or Pox . Both are really powerful cards, I run Smallpox in my Nebuchadnezzar deck and I run Pox in my Meren of Clan Nel Toth . If you use Pox after your commander is on the field, you are going to lower the cost of all of your cards by 10+ making everything in your hand free.
Also from personal experience, I believe 36 lands is more then enough. Only time I go lower is if you have really powerful ramp and only time I go higher is if you have some type of land synergy in your deck.

I eventually decided that I could do without artifact recursion, given that none of them are crucial to the game plan and counterspells could possibly stop them from being removed. It's losing the enchantments that would hurt more, I reckon.
Armillary Sphere might be a good include, I'm not wholly sure what to cut though. 4 mana fixing feels less important to me than 2-mana ramping, and Seer's Lantern and Commander's Sphere provide other benefits. I'll see if I can juggle them around a bit, see what I prefer.
I recently switched commanders from Sivitri Scarzam , who I only used for colour identity (occasionally cast her to slap on Phyresis and Whispersilk Cloak if entirely out of options). Nebuchadnezzar felt more on-theme as the old man from the story, so I put him in and never actually cast him. But I suppose you could get to infinite mana and infinite untaps to bin everyone's hand forever, so I'll edit that in :)

Usually if I use Nebuchadnezzar its once per turn but I do have Minamo, School at Water's Edge that lets me untap him if I need to use him twice. You are making me think about using Arterial Flowor Unnerve. I might take out one of my one mana discard cards or a specter for them. Hitting everybody for 2 is very nice for this deck.
Honden of Night's Reach is interesting however for one mana less Bottomless Pit does the same thing, even though it does hurt me on occasions, the random discard does help taking out some powerful cards early game.

I browse legendary creature lists ALL the time, how have I NEVER seen Nebuchadnezzar?! Sounds really funny, so I voted for that.
To be fair, I'd still like to see a Aboshan, Cephalid Emperor build. I could see myself trying those shenanigans
