PartyJ That's awesome! It was a great time, and I remember my Sivitri Scarzam deck fondly : ) Sometimes it just feels like the format changed so slow and other times it feels like it changed so fast, but when I look at my decks now they are so different than they used to be. It's great that your group can get some of those good ol' games in : )

And yeah, in general I don't think that the format needs to be split, just that it might be more fun if it did. Also, maybe a better cutoff would be pre-Eldraine. Most things before that set seem to play alright together, but that was really when the new cards started taking a bigger chunk of the format.

FormOverFunction That would be awesome to bring some of them back. I'd love to see something written by someone who cares almost too much about an old legend like Sivitri Scarzam or Gabriel Angelfire The storyline does not matter, because you know what, it will definitely be interesting : )

I am one of the people that has been wanting a new Baron Sengir and man its finally happening!

Jeska, Warrior Adept was a pet card of mine back in the day so im curious to see what her Planeswalker form will do and how she came to be that way.

Arcane Signet s for everyone! At least I'm assuming that will be included in almost all of these products. As with all the products that open up past present and future options for characters I am always excited to see who gets a new treatment. I would love if Commander Legends brought us new versions of a few cards from Legends like Sivitri Scarzam (black blue dragons!) or Hazezon Tamar (who I would love to run if he wasn't $$$).

And of course cards for characters that never got a chance like Belbe or Rat.

Yeah the one thing I want to see is more creative representations of some older characters or even Characters that haven't yet been represented.

Belbe was mentioned and I think thats a great idea. Also seeing what they did with Yawgmoth and Urza I wouldn't mind seeing some other pre walkers either... Lashrac has never had a card for instance.

There were also some really well designed characters way back in legends like Sivitri Scarzam and Hazezon Tamar that would be neat to see new versions of (UB Dragons and Deserts Matter?). Even though the stories are more or less irrelevant.

I eventually decided that I could do without artifact recursion, given that none of them are crucial to the game plan and counterspells could possibly stop them from being removed. It's losing the enchantments that would hurt more, I reckon.

Armillary Sphere might be a good include, I'm not wholly sure what to cut though. 4 mana fixing feels less important to me than 2-mana ramping, and Seer's Lantern and Commander's Sphere provide other benefits. I'll see if I can juggle them around a bit, see what I prefer.

I recently switched commanders from Sivitri Scarzam , who I only used for colour identity (occasionally cast her to slap on Phyresis and Whispersilk Cloak if entirely out of options). Nebuchadnezzar felt more on-theme as the old man from the story, so I put him in and never actually cast him. But I suppose you could get to infinite mana and infinite untaps to bin everyone's hand forever, so I'll edit that in :)

A while ago, I was testing my deck building abilities so I had my friends send me random commanders and I would build a deck around them, proxy it out (who has money to actually buy cards for shenanigans like this?) And play them. It started out as I expected, "here's my favorite legend, build it" "this card was spoiled today, build it" but as I continued to meet their challenges, they began upping the ante and started looking for commanders that are just plain bad, something you would never want to run in any deck, ever. Eventually someone named Sivitri Scarzam, and... well... I built a deck, sure. Sivitri was the commander, sure. I built the deck around everything she does, namely enter the battlefield (so the deck was full of etb triggers). Did I meet the requirements of building a sivitri deck even though the deck didn't much care if I ever cast her or not? Not sure. But I definitely think she's a bad commander as a 7 drop 6/4 vanilla creature
