Neccessary Cards in a artifact deck

I am looking at making a artifact deck, I am looking for this deck to be cutthroat and competitve and want people to groan when i play it.. I will be using Arcum Dagsson as my general for the search ability and to allow me a little more control over the board as a whole. I am looking for cards that the community hear as a whole think are neccessary to have in this type of deck

You should play Vedalken Archmage to draw more cards easily.Also consider Font of Mythos . I'm playing it in my Animar, Soul of Artifacts deck and it rocks.

List of EDH Staples and Power Cards.
Mana rocks are necessary. Thran Dynamo , Worn Powerstone , Sol Ring , etc.

You definately want Darksteel Plate and card:Nevinyrral's Disk along with Darksteel Forge to infinately sweep the board, except of your artifacts and your general.

ooooo, academy ruin would be tasty in this deck. and if you play a lot of 1v1 commander then you could add mindslaver. another good card could be quicksilver amulet to get out big artifact fatties that you can't get out with arcum

Be careful with Mycosynth Lattice . This card can and sometimes will end your game and not to your favour. It is dangerous to play and in my oppinion not needed in a monocolor artifact EDH. Don't support you multicolored enemy commander.

And that's not the only card that could hurt you a lot while having Mycosynth Lattice out.
There are only few decks that can play this card and get enough from it to outweight the dangers and boosts on other players.

Your Sigarda, Host of Herons won't do anything if you play All Is Dust , it only prevents your opponent's spells and abilities from making you sacrifice.

If you can afford the cards, the Rings of Brighthearth + Basalt Monolith + card:Sensei's Divining Top combo can go off really early with Arcum as your general. Then use that to draw until you get Mycosynth Lattice , Darksteel Forge and card:Nevinyrral's Disk and it's game over.

I don't know if its been mentioned but Tolarian Academy is uesful if you can afford it :).

I run an esper artifact deck that runs extremely well, you might wanna have a look at it for some card ideas. Lots of the stronger artifacts for EDH in there, here's the list:

Why nobody use the best, overpowered artifact card ever?
in combination with Mishra's Workshop and a Mox Sapphire you can play a Darksteel Colossus in your first round.
And so you play this combo. First, you play Mishra's Workshop , then Metalworker , You use his ability an show opponent 5 artifacts in your hand, so you have 10 colorless mana, then you play Mox Sapphire = 11 mana = Darksteel Colossus

It's banned in Commander. So are all of the original Moxen.

Also, that combo doesn't work because Metalworker doesn't have haste. Turn 2 at best.

Junk Diver and other cards like it are essential in an Arcum Dagsson deck.

Junk Diver and Myr Retriever and similar effects are essential in an Arcum Dagsson EDH.

Oh right. Necessary cards. Bugger, I already wrote out this list. Well never mind, a good starting place is to look at other Arcum Dagsson decks and look at similarities. Here is a list of non-necessary but still awesome artifacts and stuff to consider though.
-Master Transmuter : Always a nasty lass, cheating artifacts into play and can be used to help them dodge removal too.
-Unwinding Clock : Can often be effective in EDH, especially with a lot of tapping artifacts. But not necessarily essential, mind you.
-Darksteel Forge : All my artifacts indestructible? And searchable via my general? Yum.
-Kuldotha Forgemaster : Another way to search for artifacts.
-Mycosynth Golem : Everything just got a lot less expensive.
-card:Mind's Eye: Very naughty card advantage. If you have artifact lands, this could work nicely with artifact lands and Unwinding Clock .
-Spine of Ish Sah : Alright piece of permanent removal that can recur itself. Combo with card:Phyrexia's Core or other sacrifice outlets.
-Fabricate : I don't even need to say why.
-Plenty of artifact ramp, such as Darksteel Ingot , Sol Ring , Thran Dynamo , Armillary Sphere or whatever you can find.
-Acquire : Almost all EDH decks have good artifacts in them. Swipe them and take a look at the deck while you're at it.
