I play Standard, both limited and constructed, but I'm tired of ignoring cards that have rotated out.

So this is my first venture into modern. I know some of the archetypes in the format but don't really know the cards.

So I spent $25 on MTGO and picked up what I consider the core for Soul Sisters (Serra Ascendant, Soul Warden, Soul's Attendant, Ranger of Eos , Honor of the Pure). I left it at that, so don't have Squadron Hawk, Spectral Procession, Path to Exile, etc...

I decided to flesh out the deck from my nearly Standard collection that dates back to Innistrad. So at this stage, I'm intentionally not buying pricey older cards to save money (I don't even know if I will enjoy this deck yet) and to get a chance to brew a bit with cards that are more familiar to me.

First attempt is leveraging Champion of the Parish because the Sisters and Serras are human. I've supplemented with Precinct Captain because he is human and the token generation may be impactful.

Brimaz, King of Oreskos and Archangel of Thune are in there to provide more power.

Removal and utility was a bit challenging, so currently picked Devouring Light, Oblivion Ring and Brave the Elements.

I know it's not a competitive deck, but my goal is to brew a deck that allows me to learn the format and have some fun.

Please advise on quality budget modern cards to buy or on cards from Innistrad onwards (budget not necessary since I probably have them).

BTW, in my research into various Soul Sisters decks, my favourite was Super Soul Sisters. by MagnaLynx21. Thanks for the inspiration! My maybe board includes the missing cards from that deck.
